Overall Rationale: This is my first attempt at a computer ranking, slight tweaks over last week on offensive/defensice dominance. I'll probably tweak the formula up to week 4 and then set it and let it go for the season. I believe that the current rankings are subjective, and blue-bloods get preferential treatment and that the G5 doesn't get the credit it deserves based on their on-the-field performance. Given that, this computer ranking attempts to blend predictive ratings with résumé results, leaning toward rewarding teams that win convincingly against tough schedules. Elo and efficiency stats provide a backbone of team strength, while margin of victory, strength of schedule, and offensive/defensive dominance ensure results on the field carry real weight. Preseason and market factors are kept light, so current-season performance drives the rankings.
