SufferingfOrLife Ballot for 2025 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 14, 2025, 2:12 a.m.

Overall Rationale: I tried to shake things up this week since we saw some highly ranked teams fall. Still early on, so not as many major changes as I thought. Also, when I refer to rankings in reasons, it is mine, not AP.

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes 0 Staying at number one until otherwise
Oregon Ducks 0 Again, staying at number two until otherwise, but more to add is that they seemed to just sit on their lead against Northwestern, so it didn't seem as dominant as the first two games.
Penn State Nittany Lions 0 Have beaten everyone on schedule, which is weak, and waiting for the real test.
Miami Hurricanes 0 Looked amazing against a solid USF team, and that defense looks much improved.
Georgia Bulldogs 0 Played a close one in Tennessee, but were able to squeak it out. Doesn't feel like Georgia of the last few years, but still able to win games.
LSU Tigers 0 I am very suspicious of LSU and that offense, but I want to wait and see how they do in the next few weeks and see if the offense gets on track against an FCS team next week.
Oklahoma Sooners +2 John Mateer is elite, and that defense is elite enough, said.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets +7 I love Georgia Tech, and today is one of the best examples of why I do, just finding ways to win and Haynes King being a dawg. So what if they have three run plays in slight variations, it works.
Iowa State Cyclones +2 It wasn't the best game, but who cares? They get to their bye after already playing four games. Once back, though, they will need to face #25 Arizona, but they will be at home.
Illinois Fighting Illini +2 Scoreboard won't tell it, but it wasn't the prettiest at times, but hope to look better next week at #11 Indiana
Indiana Hoosiers +3 Thoroughly dominated Indiana State to tune up for there big match up against #10 Illinois which they will be at home for.
Florida State Seminoles +4 Didn't play this week but got nice boost from other teams losing.
Texas A&M Aggies NEW I was low on A&M, but now put them in my rankings after beating Notre Dame on the road.
Louisville Cardinals +3 Didn't play this week, but I am very high on this year's Louisville team.
Texas Tech Red Raiders +3 Played well against Oregon State, but looking forward to the matchup at #18 Utah.
Texas Longhorns -9 I had just written a full paragraph on this team for this explanation but my computer crashed before saving so short of it is I wanted to unrank them but thought they loss to #1 Ohio State so not a bad loss but looked bad against UTEP and mediorce against SJSU who will be MW champs (no bias) so don't really know waht to do until SEC play.
BYU Cougars +2 Didn't play this week and have a relatively light schedule ahead, so hope to keep racking up wins.
Utah Utes +3 Looked rough that first half, but steadied the ship a little as they now have to take on #15 Texas Tech
Missouri Tigers +3 Ran all over Louisiana as they look great and begin SEC play next week against now unranked South Carolina.
Ole Miss Rebels +3 Offense looked great with backup against a putrid Arkansas defense, but hope to get Austin Simmons back healthy.
Washington Huskies NEW Bye week, and this is a pretty biased take since I have watched them late nights but Jonah Coleman is the truth. I think he will be a Heisman contender.
Auburn Tigers NEW Auburn looked iffy that second half, but will need to focus on Oklahoma next week which will be interesting to see if they are legit.
USC Trojans NEW Offense put up cartoonish numbers in the first two games and obviously came down to earth a bit, but still like this offense and trust a D'anton Lynn defense.
Vanderbilt Commodores NEW Had a big win against South Carolina on the road. Diego Pavia and Clark Lea have turned this program around.
Arizona Wildcats NEW Another maybe biased pick which probably shouldn't be, since they stole my coach a year ago but I like the talent they have and believe Noah Fifita is going to look closer to the 2023 version of himself than 2024 for the rest of the way.
