1 Ohio State Buckeyes Best team in the nation until proven otherwise. Coming off of a national championship and beat Texas who is also a legitimate Top 10 team in the nation
2 Penn State Nittany Lions They looked great in Week 1, but in Week 2 didn't dominate as much as you'd want them to. I still expect them to be a national title contender.
3 Oregon Ducks Dominant win against a P4 team this week brings them to #3 in my eyes
4 Miami Hurricanes Big match up against USF this upcoming week can either bring them up higher or send them down the list
5 LSU Tigers They won against LA Tech last week, but their offense hasn't shown off so far this year
6 Georgia Bulldogs Incredibly nitpicky, but for a team this highly ranked you'd expect them to beat a lower tier FCS school by more than 22 points
7 Texas Longhorns I expect this team to move up eventually in the rankings but they cannot be higher than here with 1 loss.
8 South Carolina Gamecocks I feel confident in this team going forward, but in a head to head match up I'd expect them to fall to the Longhorns
9 Florida State Seminoles Very different team this year compared to last. Defeated Alabama and boat raced their FCS opponent last week
10 Illinois Fighting Illini Good start to the season beating Duke on the road in a convincing fashion
11 Oklahoma Sooners They looked very strong on defense on Saturday night but questions remain about their offense. They should go into the Red River rivalry undefeated
12 TCU Horned Frogs Off last week after a dominant showing against Chapel Bill. Could they make another surprise run this season?
13 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Losing a game to Miami makes you question if this team will reach the same levels as last season. Their match against Texas A&M on Saturday could tell us a lot
14 USF Bulls What else needs to be said about USF. Two ranked wins to start off the season. If this was solely a list rewarding resumes they would be #3 (behind the Buckeyes and Miami). If they beat Miami they are going to be Top 10 without a doubt and perhaps a Top 5 team in the land.
15 Clemson Tigers Falling to LSU week 1 and needing to comeback from down 16-0 against Troy does not inspire confidence in this squad. They are talented though so they can put it together
16 Ole Miss Rebels Dominating performance week 1 against a Sun belt team and a win against an SEC squad gets Ole Miss started early in first place in the SEC (by default)
17 Tennessee Volunteers Nothing unexpected so far for Tennessee, their offense looks strong but will need to shore up some weaknesses on defense to make a playoff run
18 Texas A&M Aggies Aggies have looked pretty good so far against UTSA and Utah st. Their first big test comes this week against Notre dame
19 Iowa State Cyclones They did defeat in conference foe Kansas st in Ireland to start the season but were slopping in doing so and again only won a close game against the Hawkeyes so this team is tough to predict. If they can just keep winning they can make the playoffs, but if these one possession games flip the other way they could really struggle in the big12
20 Utah Utes Good start to the season after a down year last season. Utah seems to be better when they have no expectations
21 BYU Cougars Don't check their opponents but in two games BYU has outscored their opponents by a margin of 86 - 3.
22 Texas Tech Red Raiders They spent their way to early season success. Oregon St next week could be a trap game if they lose focus on look ahead to Utah in Week 4
23 Alabama Crimson Tide A loss to Florida St was bad but a 73-0 stomp of an FBS team does make you think they can get it together
24 Missouri Tigers The border war victory is good for this team's confidence and they will need it against a decent Louisiana team and especially in two weeks as they start conference play against South Carolina
25 Indiana Hoosiers Indiana has taken care of business so far, destroying FBS newcomer Kennesaw St last week 56-9
