RowDull8230 Ballot for 2025 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 7, 2025, 9:54 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes
Penn State Nittany Lions
Oregon Ducks
Miami Hurricanes
Texas Longhorns Moved up Texas because they bounced back after a close loss to Ohio State. Looked good, albeit we will learn more about the Manning experiment in Austin in the coming weeks.
LSU Tigers I did punish LSU and Georgia for not annihilating their FCS opponents. And maybe that's not fair. But I expect the heralded "best conference in the country" to handily beat an FCS foe and not struggle to win by just two scores.
Georgia Bulldogs See above (LSU). Austin Peay gave Georgia fits early in the game. And I am not sold on Gunnar Stockton yet. Georgia did what it had to in order to beat Austin Peay. Also, can we start calling Georgia RB U? Nate Frazier is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.
Clemson Tigers
South Carolina Gamecocks
Illinois Fighting Illini Illinois will move up simply because they dominated Duke. But will this win look good at the end of the season? Obviously, we have no idea. In the meantime, Illinois boatraced Duke in the second half and I think they need to keep the retro word-mark helmets. Those things gave me Juice Williams vibes that I sorely missed.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Only dropped because they didn't play this week.
Oklahoma Sooners I could have moved Oklahoma higher as I think that was a statement win for the Sooners. We can't overreact to each week. That being said, offense looks to be in control and that defense got the job done with their backs against the wall late in that game. Oh, and John Mateer for September Heisman.
Iowa State Cyclones Iowa will always grind you out but Rocco Becht is winning me over and quickly. Iowa State might be running away at the B12 favorite. ISU is showing us they can win in any way possible.
Florida State Seminoles
Texas A&M Aggies
Ole Miss Rebels
Tennessee Volunteers
Alabama Crimson Tide Kalen DeBoer took the target off his back and mailed it to Gainesville. Just don't tell that to Susie in Alabama if she wins the Lotto.
Michigan Wolverines The Wolverines drop because of the road loss, but the second half of that game fared far better than the first. Bryce Underwood got more comfortable as the game went on. I am not punishing a freshman QB for losing in a big stage with only one career start to his name. Nor should you.
Indiana Hoosiers
Utah Utes Kyle Wittingham and crew are lurking around here, ready to strike fear into the B12 and show Iowa State that they aren't going to run away with the conference title. At least, not without a fight.
Arizona State Sun Devils Biggest drop of the week. Losing to an unranked opponent on the road as a favorite drops you down on my list. How this is different is that Florida has had the previous heartbreaks and habit of not closing games. This was one of the only times we have seen this in the Kenny Dillingham era.
Boise State Broncos I still believe in Boise State, even if they played an FCS foe. Sire Gaines is picking up where Ashton Jeanty left off last season and I think Maddux Madsen can learn from the Week 1 stunner at USF and mature on the football field.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
USF Bulls I am the unofficial President of the Alex Golesh Fan Club and I have no shame in it. Byrum Brown would be a Heisman contender if he didn't play at USF. The Bulls may have helped Florida pull the plug on the Billy Napier era.
