Overall Rationale: My self-made formula, BallMetrics (formerly SwanMetrics), prioritizes head-to-head results first, followed by strength of record and performance-based measurements, such as effectiveness of defense, offensive line, and passing game. The formula does not decide rankings on its own until later in the year, but early on is used to favor certain teams who might otherwise be overlooked.
