Overall Rationale: Once I learned the dark art of communicating with the mycelium network that reaches across the continent, I asked them what to think of the college football landscape after week two. This is the conclusion we came to.

Wow they shut out Georgia! Wait no Grambling State… it’s still impressive to drop 70-0 on a team. |

Second week in a row Bethune-Cookman was an in state punching bag. I didn’t watch this game so I don’t know the specifics, but I expected a bigger point differential. But I don’t want to penalize them for my own laziness. |

A good bit closer than I thought it would be. Which is why they drop relative to Miami this week. |
4 |

The Duck dressed up like Where the Wild Things Are absolutely destroyed Ok State. That’s the only explanation. It’s totally not that this team once again looks great despite their losses. |
5 |

Not as dominant of a start as I would expect from this team given the quality of opponents they’ve faced. I debated dropping them. |

Big win over good program, and early in the season that’s worth a lot. Jumping from just outside the top 25 to 6th is certainly something, but there aren’t many teams that have earned spots above them. |

That was a certified Cy-Hawks rivalry game, any win over a rival is a big deal. |
8 |

I can’t pin down how I feel about this squad. But utterly dominating Duke makes me get a bit more on board with the hype. |

I was more willing to give the benefit of the doubt against Marshall, because while they were poached heavily it’s a solid G5 program. Austin Peay is not good. Georgia did not play great. It seems they’ve taken a further step back from last year’s squad. |

HUGE win over their hated rivals who were having a great start to the year. Close for most of the game until the pulled the lead late. Not many other teams can claim such a strong win. |

Absolute blowout of ETAMU, with what I expected out of SMU last week. Alabama demolishing LA Monroe certainly helps too. |
12 |

Beat up FCS school, so I’m somewhat worried I’m overestimating these guys. But I like Haynes King. Heh, yeah I said it, I am a fan of his. |
13 |

Syracuse and an absolute thwomping of an FCS foe. Again I fear I am over ranking this squad but don’t really know who else to put. |
14 |
![]() |
Beating up JMU isn’t easy. That said JMU has the weirdest plan ever seen. We’ll start to really learn about this squad in a few weeks. |

This is what I needed to see out of the Gophers after last week. Yeah NW State is ass, but holding them scoreless is impressive nonetheless. |
16 |
![]() |
Ga So has caught up plenty of schools, but yall prevailed seemingly unopposed. |
17 |

There was allot of struggle vs an FCS for. And Va Tech losing again certainly doesn’t help your impression. |

A closer one than expected vs Kentucky. Either UK is better than expected or Ole Mid is worse. |
19 |
![]() |
Demolished Cal Poly, not much of a change. But, comparing the UCLA win vs the Stanford- BYU game, Utah looks the better of the big Utah schools. |
20 |
![]() |
Sigh… at least one, if not both of the following needs to happen. USF for the playoffs and Napier is out of Gainesville. |
21 |
![]() |
Off week so hard to say much. UNC didn’t look particularly good against Charlotte so that’s not too helpful for the horny toads. |
22 |
![]() |
Continued thwomping this time with Kent State… so not much to go off of. We’ll get a good idea about this team once they play Utah. |
23 |
![]() |
Thoroughly unimpressive in there two wins against G5 schools. They’ll have a chance to prove themselves vs Notre Dame, but how good even is ND? |
24 |
![]() |
The Baylor win looks better after Baylor led the Baptists to a win over the Methodists. Are we going to get true odds year Auburn this year? |
25 |
![]() |
Vandy is getting my 25 because they have looked good against outmatched opponents. Next up vs South Carolina is much more of a prove yourself game for both squads than people will give it credit for but that is an important game. Next five out are texas, Alabama, Notre Dame, BYU, and Michigan. BYU was thoroughly unimpressive vs a dogshit Stanford. |
