Overall Rationale: Wins and losses matter most. Due to me having some significantly different opinions on teams like LSU, Miami, and Boise State in the preseason, these rankings might seem different. I could go with the mob and assume I was just completely wrong on a bunch of these teams, but in the interest of having my own brain but also not going too loco, here's what I got. Ohio State is #1 with their win over previously #8 Texas, who falls a few spots. Among the teams in my top 13 who lost: Clemson, Notre Dame, Texas, Boise State, and Alabama, Boise State and Alabama fell completely out of the rankings due to losing in blowout fashion. Texas and Notre Dame fell down, but not as much because they were on the road. Clemson fell down a lot more from my #1 spot due to losing at home. I rewarded USF big time due to being very high on Boise State. Everyone assumes that Boise State is just bad now, and while that could be the case, the only reason people think that is because they got beaten and blown out by USF. What if USF is just really good? That's the question people are asking about FSU, but not USF. LSU, Miami, USF, and FSU all come up from the previously unranked ranks due to massive wins. There were more teams shuffling around in the bottom of the rankings, but those were the biggest movers. Other than previously mentioned Bama and Boise State, some other teams that fell out were Kansas State, Texas A&M, Baylor, Michigan, and Ole Miss. All of those won except Baylor, but looked iffy while doing it except Ole Miss. Ole Miss was just near the bottom to begin with and got passed up by several teams coming up from the bottom. Utah and TCU come in via respect for murdering P4 opponents, with Tulane at #26 for the same reason. Tulane goes behind the other two due to their win coming at home. This week is always guesstimations, so I expect lots of disagreement with my rankings, but that's ok. With most teams only playing one opponent so far, everyone is in their own bubbles. Over the next couple weeks we'll get to see how those bubbles relate. I can't wait!
