1 Oregon Ducks Still the only unbeaten team in America. And while Washington is a far cry from last year's team, they have a chance to exorcise last year's demons against the Huskies.
2 Ohio State Buckeyes A talented group that asserted themselves against Indiana, not much more to add than that. But after the past three seasons there is only one non-playoff game that matters in Columbus.
3 Texas Longhorns There's been talk about Texas' schedule and it's completely fair. They've had a good year while avoiding most of the top SEC teams sans-Georgia. However, probably their biggest test so far comes this Saturday. 13 years since two teams that should always play each other have played. While A&M had a let down last week, there is no question what team they were looking past Auburn for. Texas-Texas A&M in College Station for a SEC Title Game berth. I can't wait, myself.
4 Penn State Nittany Lions Bit of a houdini act against Minnesota but Penn State seems to be on stable track to make the playoff.
5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame has more November wins in Yankee Stadium than the Yankees since 2009. Things to think about.
6 Georgia Bulldogs We all saw that UMass rushing statline.
7 Tennessee Volunteers We all saw your fans doing the chomp.
8 Indiana Hoosiers Indiana did fall since the SOS is iffy still. But they got help to buoy their fall, and in the end of the day they're an 11-1 Big Ten team who's only loss is to probably the most talented team in the nation in Columbus. And with the assists they got, a playoff spot is all but wrapped up..... unless the Spoilermakers want to end their season of nightmares in the best way possible.
9 SMU Mustangs First year in the ACC and a title game appearance. That's a lot more efficient than their likely opponent in the ACC title game could say.
10 Boise State Broncos Steadily rising as others fall. And who would have thought that they wouldn't just be leading for the G5 spot, they would be leading for the 4th bye!
11 Miami Hurricanes Haven't said this about the Cardiac Canes a lot this year, but an easy stress free win. Now to face a solid Syracuse team with a trip to Charlotte on the line.
12 Arizona State Sun Devils Well, we just saw a hall of fame "Hold your horses" moment. But still, what a season in Tempe!
13 Clemson Tigers While they may not be at the upper echelon of the sport like they were, full credit to their consistency under Dabo.
14 Alabama Crimson Tide Ooof.
15 Ole Miss Rebels Ooof again.
16 South Carolina Gamecocks I can't in good faith put them above two teams they went 0-2 against. That said, what an opportunity they suddenly have in the Palmetto Bowl.
17 Iowa State Cyclones Tight game against Utah, but a gutsy win and a huge season in Ames so far.
18 Tulane Green Wave Suddenly a dark horse for the G5 spot.
19 BYU Cougars Things came crashing down to earth in a hurry. Still a good season but the last two games are going to make this a "what if" season for the folks in Provo.
20 Illinois Fighting Illini Unconventional but a under the radar great season for the Illini.
21 Texas A&M Aggies Ooof X 3.
22 Syracuse Orange Tighter than expected against UConn but it's been a great first season all things considered for Fran Brown. And now a chance to play spoiler.
23 UNLV Rebels A great season for UNLV, but before the big rematch there's a Cannon that needs to keep it's shade of red.
24 Colorado Buffaloes Oh how I bet they wish they got Kansas in September.
25 Army West Point And back to reality, but all their goals are still in front of them.
