133112 Ballot for 2024 Week 14

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 23, 2024, 11:46 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Rationale is still "Same as last week", but I think I'll provide a refresher on what that means. Additionally, I will continue not to comment on a team unless there has been a significant change, or I feel a comment is warranted. Primarily based off record and win quality, with previous/preseason team ranking, conference, and loss quality also minor factors. For conferences, I tend to favor teams in the P5 heavily, with the order in which I currently have the conferences ranked being as follows: B1G, XII, SEC, ACC, PAC, MWC, American, SBC, CUSA(Unranked Conferences on the year not included in these rankings yet)

Rank Team Reason
1 Oregon Ducks
2 Ohio State Buckeyes
3 Penn State Nittany Lions
4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
5 Boise State Broncos
6 Indiana Hoosiers Indiana falls a bit, but Ohio State is a good team; they won't fall too far.
7 SMU Mustangs
8 Miami Hurricanes
9 Texas Longhorns
10 Army West Point Army plummets, but due to the quality of Notre Dame, and their previously stellar record, stays top 10.
11 Arizona State Sun Devils A big win sends the Sun Devils into playoff territory!
12 Iowa State Cyclones
13 BYU Cougars Weird week saw BYU initially fall much further, but be saved by losses from other top tier teams.
14 UNLV Rebels
15 Clemson Tigers
16 Illinois Fighting Illini
17 Georgia Bulldogs
18 Tennessee Volunteers
19 Tulane Green Wave
20 Kansas State Wildcats Kansas State gets lucky this week, and benefits from a lot of losses, and the SEC's reputation in these polls collapsing with Ole Miss' and Texas A&M's losses.
21 Syracuse Orange Syracuse re-enters the polls, due to the havoc of this week!
22 Colorado Buffaloes
23 Iowa Hawkeyes
24 Alabama Crimson Tide Yikes. Nasty loss ends the Crimson Tide's playoff hopes in my book.
25 Texas A&M Aggies And A&M, losing to Auburn? The team that Cal beat? Really? This loss plus Alabama's PLUS Ole Miss' send shockwaves through the poll, as SEC teams that could've risen much higher get held back by their conference's good name burning in front of my eyes.
