JamesDontPlayNoGames Ballot for 2024 Week 13

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 18, 2024, 9:22 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Oregon Ducks
Ohio State Buckeyes
Indiana Hoosiers
Texas Longhorns
SMU Mustangs I had SMU behind Penn State last week, but SMU got a better win over Boston College than Penn State did over Purdue. So I've moved the Mustangs ahead of the Nittany Lions at this point.
Penn State Nittany Lions
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
BYU Cougars Yikes. Rough loss to Kansas at home, though the Jayhawks are a better team than their record indicates. BYU still has a very solid resume with only one loss. The win over SMU still looks really good.
Alabama Crimson Tide This is the hardest section to judge in my opinion. All of these next four selections have two losses. Alabama has beaten Georgia, but has a loss to Tennessee. I have Bama ahead of the other two loss SEC teams because they also have wins at Wisconsin and LSU. Those teams might be having down years, but still tough environments. They also have a good win over South Carolina.
Ole Miss Rebels Ole Miss is a tough to place because out of Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, they've only played one of those opponents (Georgia) and they did win. So I have them ahead of Georgia, but can't put them above Alabama with their losses to Kentucky and LSU.
Georgia Bulldogs I think in my mind, Georgia is the easiest to place for these four SEC teams that have two losses. Georgia has losses to Alabama and Ole Miss, so they are behind them. They've beaten Tennessee so they are ahead of the Volunteers.
Tennessee Volunteers The more I look into Tennessee's schedule, the more it surprised me. To this point, there is only one power conference team they've beaten that is over .500 for their winning percentage, Alabama. Every other power conference opponent they've played is now at best 5-5.
Miami Hurricanes
Boise State Broncos
Army West Point
Colorado Buffaloes
South Carolina Gamecocks South Carolina's win over Mizzou has them jumping four spots from last week in my rankings and now ahead of A&M, who they beat a couple of weeks ago.
Texas A&M Aggies A&M does seem like a solid team, but their best wins are over LSU and Mizzou who are trending in the wrong direction. A blowout win over New Mexico State did not move the needle much for me. In fact, they were jumped by both Colorado and South Carolina from last week's rankings.
Clemson Tigers
Tulane Green Wave
Arizona State Sun Devils
Iowa State Cyclones
UNLV Rebels
Illinois Fighting Illini
Memphis Tigers
