Ballot Type: Human

Overall Rationale: I watch as many games as I can, get a feel for how things played out over the week, keep track of results, and then compare teams to both how they did this week, and how they've done across the season. I keep in mind SOS and SOV. Schools that dropped out from my rankings last week: Michigan, Missouri Schools out of the Top 25 that I still considered: Arizona State, Colorado, Iowa, Memphis, Minnesota, Missouri, Syracuse, Texas Tech, Tulane
Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Oregon Ducks | Ducks stay at the top as the undisputed best school in the nation. |
| Georgia Bulldogs | Y'all had us in the first half, not gonna lie! But you overcame and showed why you're a top three school. Clean up the game a little so that such a scare doesn't happen again, and the rest of the season really ought to be smooth sailing. |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | Back in the top 3 with a win over Penn State, who I had at #2 last week. I still feel Georgia is better than you. I'm sorry but I do. Like I said, you guys have been playing sloppy football lately. I will admit, this week, you did a lot better. Still ugly in some parts, that pick six wasn't great. But good win nonetheless. |
| Miami Hurricanes | A fine offensive showing against Duke has you moving up a place. The dream of an undefeated season lives on and may very well verify. |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | A tightly contested game leading to a tough loss against an Ohio State I ranked #6 last week is nothing to be ashamed of... but it does drop you down to round out the top 5. |
| Texas Longhorns | |
| Tennessee Volunteers | Winning against Kentucky is nice and all, but you're stuck between a rock and a hard place here. The win doesn't justify moving you past Texas, and now Indiana has came to say hello as they settle in behind you. |
| Indiana Hoosiers | Speaking of, the same could be said of your win over Michigan State, if it were not for the fact that you are still undefeated. This win does move you up a few places, even if that's mostly because the schools immediately ahead of you didn't play this week. |
| BYU Cougars | |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | |
| Alabama Crimson Tide | |
| LSU Tigers | |
| Ole Miss Rebels | Biiiig win over Arkansas. I /would/ like some of the BBQ you cooked up, thank you! That poke at your social media aside, your real test comes next week against Georgia. We'll see how things go then. |
| SMU Mustangs | A solid win over ranked Pitt will really get you moving when everyone else either didn't play or lost. |
| Boise State Broncos | |
| Clemson Tigers | That was a tough one against Louisville, but they aren't a bad school by any means. Much like LSU last week, being moved down more than usual due to schools on upward trajectories having bye weeks. Pitt should make for an interesting matchup next week. |
| Iowa State Cyclones | That was a great game, and again! Texas Tech? Not a bad school at all! Just a tough loss to take paired with an unlucky situation. I do feel that you will rebound from this loss and hang around in the Top 25, but we'll see. |
| Texas A&M Aggies | Are you guys TRYING to make me look like an ass?! How are you going to solidly beat LSU to then lose to the unranked Gamecocks?! Get back down there! |
| Army West Point | A good — if not totally expected — win against Air Force lets Army keep their slow and steady march upwards. |
| Kansas State Wildcats | You know how last week I said that it's nice you guys beat your in-state rival but that they're flat out awful and the win doesn't really command any need to move you upwards? Yea, this is why, because you lose to an unranked, unimpressive Houston the week after, by means of handing the dub to them in the 4th. Down you go. |
| Washington State Cougars | |
| Pittsburgh Panthers | ...ouch. That wasn't pretty, and wasn't an ideal way to kill the dreams of an undefeated season. It's not going to get any easier, I'm afraid. This final stretch of the season is a test of your resolve, and we'll see how you do against Clemson next week. |
| Louisville Cardinals | Fine win over Clemson there! It's been an up and down season so far, but every game lost had been kept close and competitive. A strong finish should keep you in the Top 25, but there's no telling how things will go. |
| Vanderbilt Commodores | It feels like you getting so close to beating Mizzou all those weeks ago motivated you. You've been hungry ever since, and it shows. Losing by only a field goal to Texas, and then following that up with a tight win over Auburn has you back in the rankings. There's now the question if you remain in them. The road ahead is not easy. |
| Minnesota Golden Gophers | Hello, Minnesota. I'm sure you feel that everyone is forgetting about you. Well, I'm not forgetting about you. I see you, and your 4-game win streak that happens to include a pair of ranked schools, one of them being a then #11 USC. And I see that just before that win, that you only just barely lost to then #12 Michigan after attempting a heroic comeback. And I know about the botched onside kick call, and the field goal that could have been. You belong to be in the discussion, at the bare minimum. You were amongst the final 4 of schools that I considered for the final placing, alongside Arizona State, Texas Tech, and Iowa. For now, you win out in that bunch. |
