Overall Rationale: An opponent adjusted ranking system that awards points for results, similar to the points standings systems of Hockey and Soccer, but tweaked in a way that suits the complexity of College Football scheduling. The points standings use these power ratings to assign each FBS and FCS team a points value that we call TeamValue. Teams are ranked by how many points they earn over the course of the season, and they earn points according to the strength of the teams they play and beat. The idea is that the teams with the most points at the end of the season (and only at the end of the season) will be both the best and most deserving.
