1 Oregon Ducks Oregon is my number 1 team, sitting undefeated at 8-0, Oregon also has really nice wins over Ohio State (6-1), Boise State (6-1), and Illinois (6-2)
2 Georgia Bulldogs I have Georgia at #2 despite their 1 loss because they have awesome wins. Their wins include Clemson (6-1) who they totally dominated, Texas (7-1), and Alabama (6-2). I had a hard time deciding whether to put them or BYU at 2, but went with Georgia.
3 BYU Cougars BYU I have at number 3 because of their undefeated record and resume, but I think they'd likely get beat by most the other teams I have in the top 10. I've been sticking to the resume thing, though, so #3 it is. They are 8-0 with good wins over Kansas State (7-1) and SMU (7-1)
4 Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State is undefeated at 7-0. Best wins are over Illinois (6-2) and Wisconsin (5-3). Also have wins over USC (4-4) and West Virginia (4-4). Huge matchup next week with Ohio State should show if they really belong at the top.
5 Miami Hurricanes Miami is undefeated at 8-0. Best wins are probably Louisville (5-3), Virginia Tech (5-3) and Florida (4-3). They've got a pretty weak schedule.
6 Pittsburgh Panthers Pittsburgh is 7-0. Best wins are Syracuse (5-2) and Cincinnati (5-3). Also have a slew of wins over 4-4 teams (west virginia, cal, north carolina). Big matchup next week with SMU.
7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame is 7-1 with a perplexing loss to Northern Illinois. They have great wins, though. Beat Texas A&M (7-1) who is currently in 1st place in the SEC. Also beat Navy (6-1), Louisville (5-3), and Georgia Tech (5-4).
8 Texas A&M Aggies Texas A&M has looked unstoppable since their loss to Notre Dame. 7-1 with wins over LSU (6-2), Missouri (6-2), Arkansas (5-3) and Florida (4-3). They have a great chance to be undefeated in SEC play heading into their Thanksgiving matchup with Texas. A win in that game could send the Aggies to the SEC championship.
9 Indiana Hoosiers Indiana is 8-0 and undefeated. Best wins are Nebraska (5-3) and Washington (4-4).
10 Iowa State Cyclones Iowa State is 7-0. Best wins are Iowa (5-3), West Virginia (4-4) and Baylor (4-4). They have a decent shot at being 11-0 before playing Kansas State.
11 Tennessee Volunteers Tennessee is 6-1 with a loss to Arkansas. Nice wins over Alabama (6-2) and Florida (4-3)
12 Texas Longhorns Texas is 7-1 with their only loss coming to Georgia. Best wins are over Vanderbilt (5-3) and Michigan (5-3)
13 Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State is 6-1 and its only loss was a close one to Oregon. Best wins are over Nebraska (5-3) and Iowa (5-3). Also beat Michigan State (4-4). Huge matchup with Penn State next week could push them back up to the top 10 in my poll.
14 Kansas State Wildcats Kansas State is 7-1. Best wins are over Colorado (6-2) and West Virginia (4-4). Control their own destiny in the Big12.
15 Boise State Broncos Boise State is 6-1 with nice wins over Washington State (7-1) and UNLV (6-2). Look like the current favorite for the g5 bid into the playoff. Probably need to beat UNLV again in the MW championship.
16 SMU Mustangs SMU is 7-1 with their only loss being a close loss to BYU. Have nice wins over Duke (6-2), Louisville (5-3), and TCU (5-3).
17 Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama is 6-2, and is my top 2 loss team thanks largely to their win over Georgia (7-1). Also have wins over Missouri (6-2), Wisconsin (5-3), and South Carolina (4-3).
18 Clemson Tigers Clemson is 6-1 with their only loss coming to Georgia. Really lacking in quality of wins, though. Best wins are Wake Forest (4-4), NC State (4-4) and Virginia (4-4).
19 LSU Tigers LSU is 6-2. They have nice wins over Ole Miss (6-2), Arkansas (5-3), and South Carolina (4-3)
20 Washington State Cougars Washington State is 7-1 with a loss to Boise State. Best wins are over Texas Tech (5-3), San Jose State (5-3), and Washington (4-4), .
21 Illinois Fighting Illini Illinois is 6-2. Best wins are Nebraska (5-3) and Michigan (5-3).
22 Army West Point Army is undefeated at 7-0 but hasn't really beaten anyone notable. Best win is probably over East Carolina (4-4). The rest are awful. Still has a shot at the G5 playoff bid. Probably need Boise to lose and need to beat Navy to win the American.
23 Navy Midshipmen Navy is 6-1 with a loss to Notre Dame. Has a nice win over Memphis (7-1), though, which keeps them ranked in my poll. Could win the American if they beat Army and Tulane.
24 Colorado Buffaloes Colorado is 6-2. Best win is Cincinnati (5-3). Also beat Baylor (4-4).
25 Missouri Tigers I debated giving this spot to either Missouri or Ole Miss. I was shocked to see Ole Miss's best win is probably South Carolina (4-3). Missouri at least has a win over Vanderbilt (5-3), so I went with Missouri. Also considered Duke, Louisiana, and Tulane.
