JazzYotesRSL Ballot for 2024 Week 10

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 28, 2024, 7:34 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Doin’ my best

Rank Team Reason
Oregon Ducks Another convincing win, this time over a top 25 opponent. The Ducks look really good.
Georgia Bulldogs Bye
Penn State Nittany Lions Not the most impressive win, but good enough to jump to #3 ahead of a matchup with…
Ohio State Buckeyes …the Buckeyes, who didn’t look very impressive against Nebraska. The offense is going to need to be a lot better against PSU.
Miami Hurricanes I’m still not totally sold on this defense, but Cam Ward has the offense purring like a kitten.
Texas Longhorns A win against Vandy can be tricky (*cough Alabama cough*), but the Longhorns didn’t score any style points.
BYU Cougars A commanding win against a UCF team who was (for some reason) favored to win has BYU on top of the world heading into a bye and preparing for the Holy War against a reeling Utah.
Iowa State Cyclones Bye
Indiana Hoosiers The Hoosiers are looking really, really good. This could be a magical season.
Clemson Tigers Bye
Tennessee Volunteers Bye
Texas A&M Aggies A big win against the Tigers puts A&M in the driver’s seat in the SEC. Just like we all expected.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish As un-American as it was, the Irish looked convincing against a good Navy team.
Kansas State Wildcats A scary game, but a win against an instate rival is always a daunting prospect.
Boise State Broncos Ashton Jeanty had his worst game of the season, and Boise still managed to beat the second-best team in the conference in UNLV. The path to the playoff is very clear at this point.
Alabama Crimson Tide A good bounce back for ‘Bama after a rough three weeks. Now they face LSU in a de facto playoff elimination game.
Pittsburgh Panthers Pitt’s defense was dominant against a good Syracuse team, and the offense did enough to put the finishing touch on the rout. Can Pitt make the ACC title game again?
LSU Tigers LSU looked lost in the second half. No time to mourn either; a pivotal match with the Crimson Tide awaits.
SMU Mustangs It’s not often that you lose the turnover battle 6-0 and still win the game. Winning ugly is still winning!
Army West Point Bye
Ole Miss Rebels Ole Miss hasn’t looked impressive in conference play other than the South Carolina game, but as mentioned previously, winning ugly is still winning.
Washington State Cougars An impressive fourth quarter comeback keeps Wazzu’s dreams of an 11-1 season alive.
Colorado Buffaloes The offense (led by Travis Hunter) is humming. The defense (led by Travis Hunter) is looking better. Beat the Red Raiders and 10-2 looks very realistic.
Navy Midshipmen It was an ugly day for Navy, with 6 turnovers (and unlike SMU, they couldn’t find a way to win). I’m going to chalk that up to nerves and say they still can have a great season.
Montana State Bobcats Honestly, I couldn’t find anyone who I thought deserved the 25th spot, so let’s give it to Montana State.
