Overall Rationale: Welcome back to the Report Card Poll! THIS IS NOT A PREDICTIVE POLL. The key tenet of this poll is that pre-season polls are bullshit, and poll inertia is extremely bullshit. I endeavor to eliminate as much poll inertia as possible. This poll is entirely resume based. It is not intended to be predictive in any way. We're here to generate a Report Card. What have you accomplished on the field so far this season against your schedule, and how hard are you scheduling? That's the only question that matters. The result is generated almost entirely algorithmically. I reserve human input strictly for scenarios where things like head-to-head may be important (UGA and Clemson last week is a great example). All P5 teams are equal, all G5 teams are equal, and all FCS teams are equal to start the season. This is a black box methodology. Winning their ranked game away places them above Oregon; it is worth stating here that if both teams ranked wins were both home or both away, the higher ranked win would take precedence. BYU's additional away games gives them the edge.

7 Miami Hurricanes Miami has 3 P5 wins including two away, as well as 2 G5 wins including one away, and 1 FCS win to be 6-0. The extra away games put them over Indiana.
8 Indiana Hoosiers Indiana has 3 P5 wins including two away, as well as 2 G5 wins and 1 FCS win to be 6-0.
9 Georgia Bulldogs TIER 3 - 1 Loss Teams with 4 P5 Wins UGA has 4 P5 wins, including a ranked neutral site win against last week's #17 Clemson, 1 G5 win, 1 FCS win, and an away loss to Alabama to be 5-1. Not losing to a G5 team puts UGA above ND, and head to head puts them over Clemson.
10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish ND has 4 P5 wins, including a ranked win away at last week's #11 A&M, as well as 1 G5 win and 1 home loss to G5 NIU to be 5-1. Despite losing to a G5 team, their ranked win over A&M places them above Clemson.
11 Clemson Tigers Clemson has 4 P5 wins, 1 G5 win, and a neutral site loss to last week's #16 UGA to be 5-1.
12 Illinois Fighting Illini TIER 4 - 1 Loss Teams with 3 P5 Wins and at least 1 Ranked Win Illinois has 3 P5 wins, including a ranked away win over last week's #10 Nebraska, as well as 1 G5 win, 1 FCS win, and 1 away loss to last week's #1 Penn State to be 5-1. Illinois takes the top spot in this tier due to winning their ranked game away, and their one loss being the best loss in this group, losing both away and to the #1 team.

Winning their ranked game away, losing away to a top 5 team, and playing additional away games places them here.
