Ballot Type: Human
Submitted: Oct. 13, 2024, 10:41 a.m.
Overall Rationale: Blend of power/resume-thinking. I don't really care if a team moves drastically week-to-week. I am a fan of the Texas Longhorns. Head-to-head matchups matter when comparing similar records, but lose significance the earlier they are and the farther separated the teams are. [Teams in the ranking suburbs: Washington State, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma] [Teams in the ranking exurbs: Michigan, Arkansas, Syracuse, UNLV, Iowa, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Duke, Wisconsin, Liberty, Louisville, Memphis, Virginia, Rutgers, Boston College, USC]

(6-0) - After a shaky season opener against Idaho, Oregon has put together a strong resume thus far and takes the number 1 spot this week in my rankings after a close win against Ohio State. Quality wins: Boise State, Ohio State |

(6-0) - I think Oregon's resume so far has the edge over Texas, though Texas certainly looks like one of the top teams this year. Quality wins: @Michigan, Oklahoma |

(6-0) - Miami is a decent undefeated team, but honestly the quality of their wins is rather poor. I might be poll inertia'ing them at #4 with their narrow (possibly ref-aided) escapes against Virginia Tech and Cal. Maybe in due time I'll have the cajones to have a top 4 BYU. Quality wins: N/A |
