Hastronaut Ballot for 2024 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 6, 2024, 5:37 p.m.

Overall Rationale: I try to rank based mostly off performance, with light weighting put into team talent/preseason expectations. As the season goes on, preseason expectations for a team will be considered less and less. I do not take into account injuries.

Rank Team Reason
Texas Longhorns Texas and Ohio State are very close at 1-2
Ohio State Buckeyes
Oregon Ducks Oregon has started to play well, so moves ahead of Penn state in my standings
Penn State Nittany Lions
Miami Hurricanes Miami moves up despite narrowly escaping two straight games because of teams in front of them losing
Iowa State Cyclones Iowa state continues to impress. The losses ahead of them move them up
Alabama Crimson Tide Losing to an unranked team would normally move a team farther back. But I'm trying to keep the order of Bama > UGA > Clemson
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia moves back, the loss to Alabama is no longer as prestigious
Clemson Tigers Clemson continues to look good since Week 1
Tennessee Volunteers Tennessee and LSU both have close losses to unranked opponents.
LSU Tigers
Oklahoma Sooners Tennessee beat OU, so I keep Tenn at 10 and leave OU here
Ole Miss Rebels Ole Miss gets a solid win and moves up a few spots
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame's win against TAMU is starting to look better, they move up accordingly
Texas A&M Aggies TAMU moves all the way to 15 with the big win against Mizzou
Utah Utes
BYU Cougars Hard to separate these 3 undefeated teams. All had lower preseason expectations and no huge wins.
Indiana Hoosiers
Pittsburgh Panthers
Missouri Tigers Missouri gets beat down for their first loss and moves down 10 spots
Boise State Broncos Boise, Illinois, and Nebraska all stay around here this week.
Illinois Fighting Illini
Nebraska Cornhuskers
SMU Mustangs SMU with the win against Louisville moves them into the top 25
Kansas State Wildcats Kansas state moves into the top 25 with teams with USC, Michigan, and UNLV dropping out. Army and Navy and just outside the top 25.
