FlashSpider-man Ballot for 2024 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 29, 2024, 8 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Bias: I go to TAMU. Grew up ASU fan. Gonna keep reasoning short cause no one reads this. Message me on reddit if you are reading this. Also putting a large weight on losses. Early on, it's tough to weigh quality losses imo, as you don't know how good teams actually are. This is starting to change and future weeks will have quality losses start to matter more. Also, idk g5 so I tend to leave them off for an extra week.

Rank Team Reason
Texas Longhorns
Alabama Crimson Tide
Ohio State Buckeyes
Tennessee Volunteers
Oregon Ducks
Penn State Nittany Lions
Missouri Tigers Don't like having them so high after the Vandy game but they'll wreck us to earn the spot anyways.
Miami Hurricanes Almost losing go VT looks bad. Their two p4 wins have come against some pretty bad teams. But undefeated is undefeated.
Georgia Bulldogs Almost came back. They are a very good team and quality losses are starting to be able to be measured. They would be higher, had it not been for nearly losing to UK before (yes, they upset Ole Miss, but still)
BYU Cougars Now the BXII frontrunner? That K State win looks really good.
Iowa State Cyclones Undefeated p4 team, with a strong win beating Iowa.
Indiana Hoosiers Undefeated. Have won 2 conference games with strong offensive performance (by box score, at least)
Michigan Wolverines Only lost to #1 in the nation
Kansas State Wildcats Dominant victory over OSU + u of a win looking better.
Clemson Tigers Idk if I like putting them so high, when their loss comes to a one loss team, but they have been dominant, and Georgia at least had a great game vs a good Bama, even with the loss
Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Duke Blue Devils
Pittsburgh Panthers Last undefeated p4 team, I believe.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Fine, I'll rank you. They finally have a win vs an actual team, beating Louisville. Plus, we beat an Arkansas team that at least looks somewhat dangerous, so now that win actually has some merit, even if very little.
UNLV Rebels Had them two weeks ago, took them off cause I doubted myself, but they are back. They are undefeated, have dominated in most matchups, and have 2 p4 wins. Kansas win hurts them cause of how close it was, but blow out everyone else and it won't matter.
Boise State Broncos Take Wazzu's spot. Only lost is to good Oregon team.
Ole Miss Rebels I know this is a large drop. Most people won't drop them nearly as far. But ask yourself, why not? What have they done this year? Preseason rankings don't matter. Confidence in talent doesn't matter. All that matters is the results. Their strongest victory is over Wake Forest, who has not looked good. UK is by far the toughest opponent they played so far and they lost. They need to prove they deserve a higher spot, and they haven't yet, imo.
Illinois Fighting Illini
Louisville Cardinals
Arizona Wildcats I've been high on Utah. I wanted to keep them on the list. But you have to reevaluate each week. OkSt has their strongest win being a close game vs Arkansas. That isn't a weak win but it isn't the strongest rn. So teams above earn a higher spot. u of a beating them wins the last spot. KST have looked good, and it's not a terrible loss to take. I had UU at 5. Dropping them off the list is crazy, with this many 1 loss teams. But I see I was biased for them, and I just don't think it can be justified anymore.
