Overall Rationale: I'm putting my old hybrid rankings on the backburner for now, it wasn't quite working how I envisioned so I'm trying out a completely new system that debuts today (figured it's good to experiment while I'm still a provisional voter).
My own version of a SOS/SOR type ranking, is backwards-looking and only looks at the games played with no sort of poll inertia (think if the season ended today, these would be the teams with the best resume), slowly gets better over the season as more games are played and teams balance out (for example, a team with a frontloaded schedule will likely be over-ranked in early ballots and a team with a backloaded schedule will likely be under-ranked), unlike wins, a loss is a loss and there is no concept of a "quality loss" in these rankings, the way the score is calculated can sometimes cause shenanigans mid-season as teams that have simply played more games have a slight advantage (this will even out as teams take their BYE weeks and teams will most likely fall in an idle week), these rankings should be at their best before conference championship week, before bowl season, and post-season.
