xX_GIGA_MAN_Xx Ballot for 2024 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 29, 2024, 2:09 a.m.

Overall Rationale: worlds worst poll? we shall see later

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide An excellent win over a great Georgia team. Even with the 2nd half almost-choke, this was a great win for this new-era Bama team. If DeBoer can make it so that first half Bama is full game Bama, then they will be a very strong contender for the title this year
Ohio State Buckeyes Good win over MSU, but Bama gets the #1 spot with the best win in the nation so far
Texas Longhorns Similar to OSU, good win over (another) MSU, but since they haven't had a marquee win, they get bumped for Bama
Tennessee Volunteers Bye week, nothing doing here
Oregon Ducks slowly climbing back up after a difficult start, UCLA might not be a great team this year but it still counts as a P4 win. next 2 games are rough, with MSU + OSU coming to Eugene, win out next 2 weeks and you have a strong argument for #1
Penn State Nittany Lions first good real win of the season. Illinois is a decent team this year, just not at the level to compete with the big teams as of yet. give it another year or so. Relatively easy game against UCLA up next, should be free but who knows.
Georgia Bulldogs That first half was making me consider dropping Georgia to the 10-15 range, but the 2nd half, while it fell short, salvaged some sort of respectable ranking. Maybe it was just the home field advantage, maybe it was just because of Bama, but this team did not look like a Kirby Smart Georgia team. too many mistakes all around the ball. will have to clean it up to make a run for another title, they could drop more games in their schedule if they don't.
Missouri Tigers Bye week, nothing doing here
LSU Tigers easy win against a G5 team, nothing important here
Miami Hurricanes You really shouldn't be in a close game with UVA Tech if you have playoff ambitions. got bailed out by the refs making the correct call in the end, but you shouldn't need to rely on that for the win. your offense looked one-dimensional and flat for the first half of the game, and your defense was giving up everything. fixed it and came up with the win, but a lot to be concerned about going forwards.
Clemson Tigers a big win against a weak Stanford. something to pad the resume. have a pretty easy path to the ACC championship ahead of them. Shouldn't drop a conference game from here to the ACC championship, but you never know how this team is gonna go
Iowa State Cyclones Best B12 team at this point in time because everyone else keeps choking their lead away. An easy win against Baylor is ahead of them, and then a potential trap game against a WVU Coal Rush game. Decently easy schedule until the last 2 games of the regular season. Should be able to climb to a top 10 spot going into Morgantown and later on in the season.
BYU Cougars A good first few drives to jump to a 28-0 lead, similar to Bama. Also similar to Bama, you let your opponent get back into the game. ALSO similar to Bama, you prevented the comeback, but left questions as to why you let it almost happen at all. Anyways, good win, this team might make a run for the B12 championship.
Oklahoma Sooners Pulled a win out of your ass with that late pick 6. really good, close game, but you probably shouldn't be having a close game with this Auburn team. You will probably end the season 9-3 after the expected losses and an upset or two, but there is a path to 10-2/11-1 if you can fix the offensive issues.
Ole Miss Rebels ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Is Kentucky good? is Ole Miss bad? is any SEC team that isn't Bama/Georgia/Texas/Tennessee actually fraudulent??? This team hasn't played anyone yet, and the first "Good" team they face they can't seem to do anything to take over the game like a top 10 team should. Jaxson Dart should lose a lot of draft stock after this game, because this team does NOT look good right now.
Michigan Wolverines A decent win over a Minnesota team that is kinda just flailing around hoping for something to go right. I don't think you're going to make a playoff run with Sherrone Moore in his first year as a head coach, but you should be able to reach 8-4/7-5, which would be pretty decent.
USC Trojans Was looking concerning in the 3rd quarter, but pulled away with the offensive might of the Lincoln Riley offense. Good to see that he might have actually created a decent defense now, might be able to make a run for the B10 if that hold true.
Kansas State Wildcats The winner of this year's B12 Battle of the Frauds is KANSAS STATE. Oklahoma State realized that they don't in fact have a quarterback, and promptly did not score any meaningful points in the second half. Meanwhile, Kansas State REMEMBERED that they in fact have an offense, and put up all the points they didn't put up against BYU last week on Oklahoma State this week. how fantastic. This team might be a fraud too though, keep an eye on them for now.
UNLV Rebels Don't need that traitor anyways, Hajj is a better quarterback then he ever was. How didn't he get the starting job anyways? Strong win over a decent Fresno State team, padding their resume as the best G5 team right now. The UNLV/Boise game later this year is going to go crazy.
Utah Utes Yeah Arizona has some good talent offensively, but that doesn't mean that YOU have to give up offensively. You NEED to figure out the QB situation before you can ever seriously consider your conference/playoff ambitions.
Boise State Broncos Ashton Jeanty is the best player in college football right now. absolutely insane numbers through the first 4 games. If this man keeps these numbers up through the rest of the season and DOESN'T get the Heisman, then there is no point for anyone but the blue bloods to keep playing this game.
Texas A&M Aggies A good win against Arkansas, who might be good or might be bad, we have yet to see and probably will never see. Very good game next week against Mizzou, could potentially define the Elko era at A&M. They have a very good chance at pulling the upset, Mizzou has looked kinda shaky up to this point, and the Aggies are on a roll going into next week. The Notre Dame loss seems to have invigorated this team. Oh wait, they only beat Bowling Green by 6 what the hell. Never mind, why did I rank you again?
Indiana Hoosiers FINALLY. THEY ARE RANKABLE. They MIGHT have not played anyone of notability yet, but they ARE 5-0. so that's all that I care about. A few very winnable games coming up, with @Northwestern, and vs Nebraska and Washington. could enjoy a few weeks in the top 25 before they face a superpower to absolutely obliterate them. very nice.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights Both of your P4 wins MIGHT have been only one score games, but they are WINS, and that's what really matters here. Ranked Rutgahs has arrived.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish ok fine i'll rank you. You're going to lose next week guaranteed now, but there really isn't anyone else to rank as of now
