CriterionCrypt Ballot for 2024 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 29, 2024, 12:52 a.m.

Overall Rationale: My overall philosophy puts the eye test over overall record, conference standings, and even head-to-head results at times. Generally speaking, each individual ranking is based on what I think the head to head outcome would be on a neutral field at the time of ranking.

Rank Team Reason
Texas Longhorns Texas started out weak against Mississippi State, but they were able to rally and put the game away in the second half. I feel comfortable leaving them at #1 for the time being
Alabama Crimson Tide I was fully prepared to put Bama at #1 this week. The game could have gotten out of control, but they never put the nail in the coffin and let Georgia regain the lead late in the 4th before finishing them off.
Ohio State Buckeyes
Tennessee Volunteers
Penn State Nittany Lions
Miami Hurricanes I am sure that a lot of people might drop Miami given the controversial ending. The fact is, that catch should have never been ruled a TD, and the refs ultimately got the call right...Even though it was debatably against the rules of Instant Replay.
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia showed a lot of fight and never gave up when the game looked over. They didn't win but they will be a contender come playoff time.
Oregon Ducks
Missouri Tigers
Ole Miss Rebels
Michigan Wolverines
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
USC Trojans I feel like 13-20 are essentially a put them where you please. So I ranked them like I would if it was a Power Ranking. Who beats who on a neutral field?
Clemson Tigers
Oklahoma Sooners Hell of a comeback by one of the gutsiest defenses in college football.
LSU Tigers
BYU Cougars
Kansas State Wildcats
Utah Utes Utah really needs a healthy Cam Rising.
Iowa State Cyclones
Texas A&M Aggies
Indiana Hoosiers Indiana has never trailed in a game this season. That is good enough to be ranked in my book.
Boise State Broncos
UNLV Rebels
Arizona Wildcats
