Lefunnymaymays4lief Ballot for 2024 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 23, 2024, 3:55 p.m.

Overall Rationale: I’m a ball knower. (and vibes)

Rank Team Reason
Texas Longhorns Quinn Ewers may be the best QB in the sport. Arch Manning might be the 2nd.
Georgia Bulldogs They’re Georgia. Don’t have as good of a win as Texas, but the UK game is likely an aberration. Have a sneakily hard road to 10 wins.
Tennessee Volunteers Nico and Huepel let off the dogs against OU, otherwise they might be #2.
Ohio State Buckeyes They haven’t impressed greatly but should be at minimum #4 until they look anemic or lose.
Miami Hurricanes Cam Ward. They might cruise to 12-0.
Alabama Crimson Tide I still don’t know if Milroe fits what DeBoer likes to do on O. The talent is there, but with UGA, UT, Mizzou and the always weird game with Auburn despite their mediocrity, they could fall out of playoff contention fast.
Ole Miss Rebels Have had far and away the weakest opening slate of the top 10, if not the P4. They’ve done more than what they’re supposed to do with that, though.
Penn State Nittany Lions Turns out BGSU is pretty good actually! Big test with ILL at Beaver upcoming.
Oregon Ducks Idaho looking more and more like an aberration, and Boise is the mid-major frontrunner. They’ll be fine and I expect to rank them higher by the time OSU comes to Autzen.
Utah Utes Cam Rising’s health is a biiiiig question mark. They continue to win without him, but as last season showed they fall short of being elite without him also.
Missouri Tigers This team cannot be normal. BC and Vandy have shown way more life this season, so they shouldn’t be punished too hard, but everyone above has impressed way more.
Michigan Wolverines And I thought Riley Leonard couldn’t throw the ball. What the…
USC Trojans Things got way tougher for the Trojans. With PSU coming to town soon and the final date with ND looming, they may not even be a top 2 seed if they were to run the table to the B1G title.
Louisville Cardinals Sneakily good again. They may well play Miami twice this year and it wouldn’t surprise me if they go 1-1 with the Canes and be ACC team #2 in the CFP. Have to get past ND in South Bend first, though
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Was the NIU game a fluke? Probably, but Riley Leonard continues to show signs of improvement in the passing game, and they’re looking for vengeance after being embarrassed against LVille last season.
BYU Cougars A really big and beefy performance. The B12 may have its rep in Utah, and it may not be the Utes.
Illinois Fighting Illini Luke Altmeyer was able to successfully outduel Dylan Raiola in a Friday night thriller, in Lincoln no less. If they can topple PSU again in the road, the hype is almost certainly real.
Clemson Tigers This team refuses to fade into irrelevance, despite all evidence showing that they probably should. Getting LVille and SCar at home + no Miami in regular season is extremely fortuitous, they may play for ACC title anyway.
Iowa State Cyclones That Iowa win may not age quite so well, and several sneakily challenging games await between their two biggest tests at the end of the season.
LSU Tigers Mid. I believe I’m doing them a favor by ranking them here. Complete lack of identity, couldn’t even put away a flailing UCLA. Hellish SEC schedule awaits.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Shockingly the Pokes lost at home, something they rarely do, even if it was against a very good but Rising-less Ute squad. They’re still in it, but have some ground to make up.
Oklahoma Sooners Woof. What a flip flop from the Riley era. Without some serious improvement on the offensive side of the ball, or some serious hard carrying from the defense, they’ll be lucky to get to 7 wins with this gauntlet.
Indiana Hoosiers Cignetti is a miracle worker. 10WINdiana incoming?
Kansas State Wildcats Yo quiero Taco Bell
Boise State Broncos Ashton Jeanty should win the Heisman, unfortunately this sport is cringe.
