Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Texas Longhorns | No change from last week |
| Georgia Bulldogs | No change from last week |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | No change from last week |
| Alabama Crimson Tide | No change from last week |
| Tennessee Volunteers | Beat an OU team that I did not value very heavily so no change for me. |
| Ole Miss Rebels | No change from last week |
| Oregon Ducks | No change from last week |
| Utah Utes | They looked amazing against Oklahoma State for a couple of quarters. Clear favorite in the Big 12 for me. Not many teams undefeated with a win over a ranked team so I am shooting them up my list. Wary due to the fact that they could not put the game away and had OSU played stronger we may be talking about them in this position instead. |
| Miami Hurricanes | I am finally on the "Miami looks good" train. Still think the schedule is weak so keeping them here until the can beat a top team. |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | Penn State needs some quality wins to boost their resume. Good chance this week against Illinois. |
| Missouri Tigers | Struggled against Vanderbilt make them one of the weakest undefeated teams in my book and not worthy of a top 10 spot. |
| Michigan Wolverines | Here I was thinking Michigan would drop out after getting demolished by USC but they pull out an insane win. That Texas loss is looking more and more like a testament to the strengths of Texas rather than weakness of Michigan |
| USC Trojans | USC bites the dust, but they are the next highest 1 loss team in terms of where the team they lost to is currently ranked. |
| LSU Tigers | Nothing really changed from last week for me. Still need them to prove it but they move up due to losses above them. |
| Illinois Fighting Illini | Strong win against Nebraska. Offense was able to move the ball extremely efficiently. Stronger win than Iowa State over Iowa in my opinion so they leap frog. Undefeated is good, but will they be able to prove they belong against Penn St? |
| Iowa State Cyclones | Bye week, but moving them above Notre Dame to better fall in line with my criteria. They are an undefeated team and have a strong win against Iowa. They do have an incredibly easy schedule until the end of the season so I do not expect them to move up much more of their own accord. |
| Louisville Cardinals | We will find out this week if Louisville is a contender or pretender. |
| Clemson Tigers | Clemson has definitely bounced back from the beatdown by Georgia, but they will suffer due to their easy schedule, similar to Iowa St I don't see them moving much of their own accord. |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | NIU's loss this week did not help ND. |
| BYU Cougars | Wow! Who saw that coming BYU looked incredibly dominate. A win against a pre-season conference favorite and another win against a good SMU team. They explode into the T25 for me |
| UNLV Rebels | UNLV is undefeated with two wins over P4 opponents deserves respect right now. |
| Oklahoma State Cowboys | Rough loss and OSU looked lost at time, but when they finally clicked in the 4th quarter they looked back to their old self. Unfortunately it was just a little too late. I still believe in OSU this season. Massively consequential matchup with K State this week, as both teams will be looking to save their season. |
| Oklahoma Sooners | I have been down on Oklahoma all season. They haven't looked ready for SEC play for the most part and Tennessee was able to easily take control of their game. If OU doesn't find their stride, they very well could be looking at a 6 loss season which would be devastating for the program's first year in the SEC, especially looking down at Texas |
| Boise State Broncos | BSUs one loss is to Oregon ranked 7th. Better loss than TAMU to ND, especially after NIUs drop this week. |
| Texas A&M Aggies | They were just outside my T25 this week. A surprise jump in from BYU and NDs ranking getting hurt doesn't help TAMU much but I think they still deserve this spot. |
