romulusjsp Ballot for 2024 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 23, 2024, 3:17 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Vaguely defined mixture of a hypothetical head-to-head and résumé. I think we're finally far enough into the season to have some idea of what teams are made of.

Rank Team Reason
Texas Longhorns (-)
Ohio State Buckeyes (-)
Georgia Bulldogs (-)
Alabama Crimson Tide (-)
Tennessee Volunteers (+6) This team is just absolutely full of sauce
Penn State Nittany Lions (-)
Utah Utes (-) Shameless homer ranking but good god what a win. Really hope that (1) Rising is back at 100% soon and (2) the defense remembers that it needs to play for 60 minutes, not 52.
Ole Miss Rebels (+2)
Missouri Tigers (-4) A win's a win, but their performance on Saturday gave me what the youths call an "ick."
Louisville Cardinals (+3) I don't know if I can really justify having them up so high, but I can't rank Miami (FL) in the top ten on principle, so here ya go
Miami Hurricanes (+1) I just don't buy it yet.
Oregon Ducks (+2)
Michigan Wolverines (+3) I am way lower on USC than most people seem to be but that was still an excellent win.
Illinois Fighting Illini (+5)
Iowa State Cyclones (+5) The Big XII is such a cluster right now, are ISU really the second best team?
Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+2)
Oklahoma State Cowboys (-8) Utah's defense is very good, but that was a disastrous offensive performance. Like a "coordinator should not be permitted to report to work on Monday" bad performance.
BYU Cougars (NR) ????
Kansas State Wildcats (-11) ??????????
Oklahoma Sooners (-5) tough loss to a good team.
UNLV Rebels (+2)
Washington State Cougars (+2)
Indiana Hoosiers (NR)
Boston College Eagles (NR)
Pittsburgh Panthers (NR) // DROPPED OUT: Northern Illinois, Nebraska, Memphis, Cal
