1 Ohio State Buckeyes last of the really easy games. First decent team @MSU next week. Most likely gonna dominate them, and so they're the #1 team in the country at this point
2 Georgia Bulldogs Clear #2 at this point. the first pivotal match of the season next week @Bama. Looked minorly shaky against UK Week 3, but other then that they've been the clear #2 team at the lowest so far this season
3 Texas Longhorns Very good team overall, and the QB position is probably solved for the next 4 years at this point. Don't believe I can rank them higher right now, because their resume at this point in the season isn't strong enough to overpower the assumptions i've made about OSU/UGA. Could jump UGA if they lose to bama
4 Tennessee Volunteers Strongest win so far this season (if you ignore NIU over Notre Dame, which ended being ND having their yearly collapse). Jumps a bunch of teams to reach the #4 spot. Lots of good teams vying for the SEC, Tennessee is right in the thick of it.
5 Ole Miss Rebels No real difficult games so far, the difficult portion of the SEC conference schedule is still yet to come in the following weeks, could sleepwalk themselves into a top 3 ranking by just not choking.
6 Oregon Ducks Need to get the team figured out and right the ship before they suffer a devastating loss. I believe (based off nothing) that they are one of the 3 best teams this season talent wise, but their lackluster performances so far in the early weeks has led me to believe that they will drop a mystery game later in the season to derail their top 4 bid.
7 Alabama Crimson Tide First real test for DeBoer this next week. Even if he loses this, he can probably guide bama to a playoff appearance, but a win here would be incredibly beneficial to establishing the beginning of a new era, and that this team is legit
8 Penn State Nittany Lions absolutely fucking annihilated Kent State. they better have gotten a massive bag from the UT + PSU games these last 2 weeks
9 Missouri Tigers Concerning game against Vandy leads to them dropping a few spots in this rankings. If they don't make it to at least 10-2 with this schedule i'll be kinda disappointed
10 Miami Hurricanes Could they finally be an actual competent team for the first time in 20 years????
11 Utah Utes Solidified their spot as the favorites for the B12 title this season with a clear win over Oklahoma State. Somehow Rising is going to suffer 20 injuries from this game and be out for another 3 weeks.
12 Clemson Tigers I'm starting to believe this is another case of "X Team isn't bad, Georgia is just very good." Dominant win over NC State pushes them into both ACC Title and playoff contention.
13 LSU Tigers UCLA isn't that good this year, but a fine, mostly expected win over a lower P4 opponent.
14 Oklahoma State Cowboys Just kind of didn't do anything against Utah, but also didn't let it get too bad. Gonna chalk it up to being kinda unlucky and give them the benefit of the doubt for now. Will see how this evolves over the next few weeks.
15 Oklahoma Sooners Similar to OSU, didn't really challenge UT that much, but also didn't let it get to a devastating blowout. Happens tbh. onto next week
16 Illinois Fighting Illini Nothing happening here. moving up cause others choked it away
17 UCF Knights very strong team, if Utah/OSU falter they could sneak themselves into a B12 title game appearance. Gonna get AP ranked pretty soon now
18 Iowa State Cyclones Very similar to UCF. The top 6 teams in the B12 are all very close to each other. very minute details in the race to the championship could derail a team's season. They have a pretty easy schedule coming up, @Houston, Baylor, WVU (at night, but still Neal Brown). Nothing really gonna stop them till the UCF matchup late in October
19 Michigan Wolverines thats some real football right there. run that damn ball. punt that shit. passing is for losers who cant run fast and get massive. hell yeah. fuck USoCal
20 BYU Cougars genuinely don't know how the hell they managed to absolutely shut down KState and just score at will. Crazy. Free spot into the rankings to you.
21 USC Trojans Disappointing game against Michigan, but oh well. moving to a new conference with a completely different playstyle ideology wasn't going to go perfectly. the defense seems to have improved though, so at least that's good.
22 Kansas State Wildcats man what the hell happened? y'all just didn't do ANYTHING against them. theres no way BYU at night is that terrifying of an atmosphere, right?
23 UNLV Rebels Current frontrunner for the G5 slot since every other G5 team decided to lose in the same week. Boise State + Wazzu are close behind though.
24 Washington State Cougars Good wins over P4 opponents in TT and Washington have them as one of the last remaining undefeated teams that I actually think are good.
25 Louisville Cardinals OK FINE, NOBODY ELSE CAN GO INTO THE POLL SO I GUESS I'LL PUT IN LOUSIVILLE. THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO SHOW THEY SHOULD BE IN HERE, BUT THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO **DISQUALIFY** THEM, SO HERE'S A PITY 25th
