Overall Rationale: As always in early season polls, I only consider undefeated teams until there are too few to fill out a top 25. 3-0 teams are generally given preference over 2-0 teams since there are plenty of them (30 to be exact). Then 3-0 teams with no FCS wins are generally above 3-0 teams who have an FCS win. To be honest, I didn't think that particular distinction would matter much. But only five 3-0 teams haven't padded their record with an FCS win. Those are my top five, led by the three who have actually played a road game: Texas, Arizona State, and Pittsburgh. If you don't like it, play a better schedule. Below the top 5, the distinctions are pretty arbitrary at this point. There's not much information to work with after only three weeks.
