1 Georgia Bulldogs They’d be #2 if Quinn Ewers was healthy (not a shot at Arch, just hard for talent to offset talent—even if it’s less talent—plus experience). As for UGA, I know it’s a rivalry but it was hard to justify keeping them at #1 until I remembered the defensive line injuries and the win over Clemson.
2 Texas Longhorns Certainly looked the part. Would be #1 if Ewers was healthy. Interested to see if their performance against Michigan last week carries over when they play tougher opponents (that is, I’m not sure if Michigan is bad).
3 Ohio State Buckeyes Bye week. If they look as good as they did in week 2 against Marshall and Michigan State, I’ll really consider moving them up. Can’t want to see what they look like against a real team, too, but that’ll take longer.
4 Tennessee Volunteers Some say they are still scoring
5 Ole Miss Rebels Slightly weaker showing but nothing to necessarily ding them for.
6 Alabama Crimson Tide Nice bounce back (or maybe nice initial bounce?) against Wisconsin. But I’m not sure that Wisconsin is any good, tbh.
7 Miami Hurricanes lol essentially a bye week. Poor ball state. They deserve credit for not playing down to their opponent and getting a 3rd win.
8 Missouri Tigers Tricky BC! Almost had them. I think it might say more about BC than Mizzou, though.
9 Oregon Ducks Are we awake now? Or is Oregon State just a shell of itself?
10 Penn State Nittany Lions Bye week
11 USC Trojans Bye week
12 Utah Utes Good to see Rising back
13 Kansas State Wildcats Answered some questions and *erased* Arizona.
14 Nebraska Cornhuskers I am intrigued.
15 Louisville Cardinals Bye week?? (Either a bye or a very unmemorable opponent)
16 Boise State Broncos Bye, but to reiterate, I still think they deserve to be here. This is a good offense and a great RB.
17 Iowa State Cyclones Bye
18 UNLV Rebels They didn’t score as many points as I expected, instead they fought, scratched, and clawed their way to a win. Finding more ways to win is the mark of a good team, imo.
19 Memphis Tigers Who had Memphis ranked last week, btw? Not that I think FSU is any good.
20 LSU Tigers That offense was really starting to click. Nusmeier (sp?) looked like the real deal in the 2nd half. But was it because South Carolina isn’t great on defense?
21 UCF Knights They won the type of game I hope the Big 12 has over and over again this year
22 Clemson Tigers Bye
23 Oklahoma State Cowboys It was Tulsa, but they didn’t play down to their opponent
24 Oklahoma Sooners Showed signs of life in the first half, which is why they’re back in the T25. Defense looks really salty. Offense looks…injured. But will getting the pieces back fix what we’ve been seeing? I need convincing.
25 Illinois Fighting Illini Not a tough opponent but a 3rd win for a potentially pretty solid team.
