DarthYoda2594 Ballot for 2024 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 15, 2024, 8:48 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Try to match efficiency metrics with quality of wins and losses. Basically an objective ranking, with an eye test tweak. New this week: UCF (20), Indiana (24), UNLV (25). Dropped out: Arizona (22 - loss, haven't really looked good once anyway), South Carolina (24 - Fine loss, looked good enough even if their strong suit wasn't their best in the game, but too low in the rankings to stay in), Boston College (25 - similar). Next few out, in rough order: Texas A&M, Boston College, Illinois, Washington State, South Carolina, Iowa, Memphis, Syracuse, Cal, BYU, Northern Illinois

Rank Team Reason
Texas Longhorns Finally enough to put them #1, especially with Georgia's performance. Different QB, no problem
Tennessee Volunteers Watched a decent amount again. Electric on both sides of the ball. Metrics are finally catching up with the eye test.
Georgia Bulldogs
Alabama Crimson Tide
Ole Miss Rebels
Ohio State Buckeyes
Miami Hurricanes
Missouri Tigers I wish I could put them higher just don't see a spot in front of the other teams. Impressed with basically all of their performances so far, and their pass game threat is still lurking to have a huge breakout game.
USC Trojans
Penn State Nittany Lions
Oregon Ducks
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Kansas State Wildcats
Louisville Cardinals
Oklahoma Sooners
Utah Utes
Michigan Wolverines Numbers don't really reflect well on them, but I'm not going to punish them too hard for losing to #1. They're a candidate to move down quickly with some more bad wins or losses.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
LSU Tigers
UCF Knights
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Feel like they justified my decision to leave them here last week. See no need to change their spot.
Iowa State Cyclones
Clemson Tigers
Indiana Hoosiers
UNLV Rebels
