Rank Team Reason
Texas Longhorns Texas takes the top spot for me as the new #1. Even if Quinn Ewers is out for an extended period of time, Arch Manning looked capable of leading Texas in his absence. They haven’t faltered yet, haven’t played a close game, and have one of the best wins of the year.
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia falls after struggling against a Kentucky team that just got obliterated by SCAR a week prior. The defense was fine, but the offense was a major issue.
Ohio State Buckeyes Bye week for the Buckeyes
Alabama Crimson Tide After a scare with USF, that looked more like the Tide we’re used to seeing. Complete domination from start to finish in Camp Randall
Tennessee Volunteers No team has had a more dominant start to the season than Tennessee. If any of their wins were against better opposition, they’d have a legit case for #1
Missouri Tigers Missouri finally played a team with a pulse and won, so they move up over Ole Miss and Penn State due to having a better win than those two. Wasn’t the cleanest win for Mizzou though.
Ole Miss Rebels Ole Miss with a nice road win over a P4 team, even if Wake probably isn’t any good. Move over Penn State because they’ve just dominated the entire way.
Penn State Nittany Lions Bye week for Penn State, but fall below Missouri and Ole Miss due to their wins.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Nice to finally see OK State wake up. If Alan Bowman can play like that, OK State will be a problem. Anyone know where Ollie Gordon is?
USC Trojans Bye week for the Trojans
Oregon Ducks Nice of you to wake up Oregon. The offense looked like the offense of old, but I think the defense showed they can be run on by better running games than Oregon State’s.
Kansas State Wildcats KSU had arguably the most impressive win of the weekend with their bludgeoning of Arizona on Friday night. Good response after a close one against Tulane.
Miami Hurricanes Miami with the easy blowout over a bad Ball State
Utah Utes Nice welcome party for Isaiah Wilson, even after a slow start, but that was closer than it should have been against a really bad Utah State side.
Louisville Cardinals Bye week for the Cardinals, but they move up due to lack of impressiveness from Oklahoma and Memphis.
Oklahoma Sooners This was better from Oklahoma’s offense, but there’s still a lot to work on. Jackson Arnold doesn’t look good when pressured.
Memphis Tigers Yes, Memphis is still my G5 CFP team. Yes, they’re 3-0. They drop because they’ve yet to beat a team with a win.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Easy win for Nebraska. They should be a problem for most of the Big 10
Clemson Tigers Bye week for the Tigers.
LSU Tigers This LSU team seems like a 8-4/9-3 team. The defense has a lot of issues, the offense is very flawed, and they needed some luck to go their way to beat SCAR.
Iowa State Cyclones Bye week for the Cyclones
Michigan Wolverines Michigan is a fringe top-25 team at best. The defense is good, but the offense is a serious problem. Davis Warren isn’t a starting QB but Orji probably isn’t either
Northern Illinois Huskies Bye week for the Huskies
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Well that’s one way to respond to a bad upset. Poor Purdue
Arizona State Sun Devils Honestly, I was impressed with that win on the road at Texas State. The MS State win isn’t aging well though
