1 Ohio State Buckeyes Bye week. nothing doing here
2 Georgia Bulldogs CLOSE shave against UK, willing to let it slide this time because I think they're still a level above UT and anyone below, but if this becomes a common occurrence, then they will start to fall. what the fuck was that end of game strategy from UK though?
3 Texas Longhorns I am afraid the Arch Manning hype may live up to expectations. this is a terrible day to be a decent human being. that being said, it is also only UTSA, who is a good G5 program, but not a great indicator on the quality of the longhorns as of yet.
4 Missouri Tigers BC is a good team this year, Bill O'Brien seems to have them in a good place. not going to drop them because I didn't drop UGA (also i dont want to mess up my rankings cause i'm already done with them. we'll get to it next week if it comes to it)
5 Oregon Ducks poor beavs.
6 Ole Miss Rebels dominant win over a P4 opponent, very good showing for them. Even though Wake Forest isn't all that good of a team right now, still a good quality win, Oregon's was just better IMO (this might be my preseason expectations blinding me though...)
7 Alabama Crimson Tide Wisconsin had zero expectations going into this game and were still overrated. Either way, good game for Bama, if you ignore last game they look like they haven't missed a step from the Saban era, which nobody really wants to be honest. let someone else have a turn at the top!
8 Tennessee Volunteers really disappointed they didn't try for the 100 bomb, but a very good win against a very bad opponent. Kent State is probably the worst FBS team at the moment.
9 Oklahoma State Cowboys Good win over a decent G5 program, going into B12 conference play, with doubts around Cam Rising's health, it could be a KSU - OSU duel for the B12 title this year.
10 Oklahoma Sooners I thought Tulane was going to do more in this game, but oh well. Good win for the sooners, Going into SEC play for the first time. This is where the fun begins. Tennessee v Oklahoma next week is going to be a great game
11 Penn State Nittany Lions Bye week, nothing here.
12 USC Trojans Bye week, nothing here.
13 Miami Hurricanes Dominant win over a G5 opponent. really glad this is the last week of this shit, I want to see my rankings shaken up more. this is getting boring. Favorite for the ACC title at this point, everyone else seems too fraudulent, but there's always a way to Miami there way out of it.
14 Utah Utes Doubts around Cam Rising could prevent their success later in the season in B12 play, but for now a good win against a G5 team. At what point do they just say fuck it and find a replacement for Cam Rising, cause this seems like the 3rd year in a row he has had severe injury problems. At some point you just gotta move on.
15 Kansas State Wildcats Good win over an (IMO) overrated Arizona team. Not saying they're bad, but few teams are able to survive coaching changes like they did successfully. If Cam Rising isn't able to play for the Utes, it could be a two horse race between them and OSU for the B12 title this year.
16 LSU Tigers BEAMER BALL ALMOST STRIKES AGAIN (it did not this time). Close shave against a decent(?) USC team (2nd time this year???). I could see them falling off in SEC play, they haven't been able to definitively put away their opponents this year so far. Something to be concerned about.
17 Memphis Tigers Great win against FSU. they might be absolutely dogshit this year, but that's still a VERY, VERY good win for their CFP resume. Definitely in the drivers seat for that autobid slot at this point. Though there is strong competition behind them. have to stay focused.
18 Clemson Tigers Bye week. nothing doing here.
19 UCF Knights A close win against a mysterious TCU team. This win's quality will be revealed as the season goes on, cause I can't make out what exactly the frogs are right now.
20 Iowa State Cyclones Bye week. nothing doing here. moved down cause of poll momentum(can I do that on a solo poll??). this will even out over the course of the season.
21 Syracuse Orange Combination of a weak schedule and a good coach will see the Orange shoot up the poll as the season goes on. But just know, I believed first.
22 Illinois Fighting Illini yeah its cum university, nothing special here.
23 Nebraska Cornhuskers Last cupcake in their schedule, now we see if big red is really back or just pretending. I personally hope they're back, they deserve SOMETHING after all these years.
24 UNLV Rebels A win over a struggling Kansas team. Still a good win nonetheless. In strong contention for the G5 slot with Memphis, but will have to watch out for Boise State. They have a good thing going on down in Vegas.
25 Toledo Rockets Ok its just Mississippi State, but I really want to rank a MAC team, and NIU has a bye week, so i'm ranking Toledo. Also Toledo had a very strong team last year, and are looking for revenge for last season's championship game loss. Look out for them out of the MAC.
