big_thunder_man Ballot for 2023 Week 10

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 30, 2023, 7:56 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Eye test, perceived SOS, head to head above all. I feel VERY good about where the ballot is ending up, lots of consistency from last week's ballot.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs 8-0. Finally met some real competition with a 5-3 (although disappointing) Florida. Dominated them. Champion is #1 until defeated.
Florida State Seminoles 8-0. Dominated Wake Forest. LSU and Duke remain marquee wins.
Ohio State Buckeyes 8-0, beat a 5-3 Wisconsin handle. After that and the Penn State win, a clear #3 in the country.
Washington Huskies 8-0. Struggled with Stanford (2-6), but jumping Michigan because the win over Oregon is more impressive than anything Michigan has done.
Michigan Wolverines 8-0. BYE. No marquee win.
Oregon Ducks 7-1. Has the loss to Washington, but has a win over an impressive Utah.
Penn State Nittany Lions 7-1. Beat a hapless Indiana, but the game felt closer than it should have been. Lost their only tough game of the season against Ohio State.
Missouri Tigers 7-1. BYE. Close loss to LSU is only blemish.
Oklahoma Sooners 7-1. Lost to Kansas, which has been a bubble ranked team. Beat Texas...
Texas Longhorns 7-1. Dominated a 5-3 BYU. Beat Alabama, and lost to Oklahoma.
Alabama Crimson Tide 7-1. Bye. Has beaten Tenessee and Ole Miss, but lost to Texas.
Louisville Cardinals 7-1. Beat a great Duke and Notre Dame. The Pitt loss will sting.
Ole Miss Rebels 7-1. Beat Vandy. Nothing to brag about.
Oregon State Beavers 7-2. Lost to a 5-3 Arizona. Still has a win over Utah and Ucla. Best two loss team in the country.
Utah Utes 7-2. Lost to Oregon. Has wins over USC, Florida, and Baylor.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish 7-2. Beat a terrible Pitt team.
Tennessee Volunteers 6-2. Took a 5-3 Kentucky apart.
LSU Tigers 6-2. BYE. Lost to Florida St and Ole Miss, but has a W over Missouri. Game over Alabama will determine a lot.
UCLA Bruins 6-2. Beat a Colorado team, and then robbed their locker room after.
USC Trojans 6-2. Barely snuck past Cal.
North Carolina Tar Heels 6-2. Lost to Georgia Tech. Feels like they're falling apart.
Kansas Jayhawks 6-2. Amazing win over Oklahoma. Also a terrible loss to Texas (eh), and Ok State?
Air Force Falcons 8-0. Weak competition, but still incredible impressive.
James Madison Dukes 8-0. Weak competition, (I mean ODU? really?) but still incredible impressive.
Tulane Green Wave 7-1, barely snuck past Rice in a game that shouldn't have been close.
