dusklord1 Ballot for 2022 Week 13

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 20, 2022, 12:50 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Out: UCF, Duke Close: Troy, South Alabama

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs
Ohio State Buckeyes I think OSU and Michigan (and TCU) can agree to forget the on-the-field product from this past week. However, we can't just forget the injuries. Both teams have not 100% RB1 *and* RB2s (Corum being the biggest loss for either team if he's not healthy), Smith-Njigba is out, there are at least 3 broken hands on OSU's defense. I have no idea what to think of next week. Although I'd imagine Corum will play, if he's out I can't see Michigan's offense doing enough to take advantage of OSU's secondary and win through the air like Maryland did. A healthy-ish Corum could invalidate the need for a competent passing attack though. I can't see OSU getting any offense on the ground, but Michigan's secondary is highly suspect. I think OSU is a favorite with Corum and a heavy favorite without.
Michigan Wolverines
TCU Horned Frogs This is basically 2014 FSU 2.0.
USC Trojans
Clemson Tigers I'm probably giving a bit more respect to Clemson than the average poster, but LSU has been really rough the past few weeks, and I'm not willing to put any of the other 2 loss teams above a 1 loss team.
LSU Tigers
Oregon Ducks
Alabama Crimson Tide
Penn State Nittany Lions This is more of a spot based on power rankings rather than resume, but I feel pretty confident that Penn State is a top 10 team, despite a lack of marquee wins.
Tennessee Volunteers Maybe an overreaction? I get that head to head should matter, and Tennessee is behind 2 teams they beat, but those other 2 teams don't have 4 score losses (that could have been far worse) to an unranked/borderline ranked team. Also, I really don't feel confident that they'd win a neutral field rematch against either team, the defense is no better than a wet paper bag.
Washington Huskies
Utah Utes
Kansas State Wildcats
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Florida State Seminoles
North Carolina Tar Heels Bad loss to Georgia Tech, but I can't really put them behind any of the other teams on this list by virtue of # of losses or the other teams also having bad losses.
UCLA Bruins
Tulane Green Wave
Ole Miss Rebels
Oregon State Beavers
Cincinnati Bearcats
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers
South Carolina Gamecocks
UTSA Roadrunners
