ColombianInIowa24 Ballot for 2022 Week 12

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 13, 2022, 1:55 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Ranked by W/L first, eye test between win/loss tiers. Subjective ranking of impressiveness of wins and losses within.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Still the best in the country. Nothing has changed here.
TCU Horned Frogs Cry about it all you want, TCU continues to impress by beating a difficult Big XII schedule. The conference is deep and somehow TCU shows above every team. Their performance against Texas was all the confirmation I needed to keep them above the other undefeated teams. Their defense is also important now and the only way Texas made it appear close is through TCU's bad luck in one play. 10-0 speaks for itself.
Michigan Wolverines Still looking slightly more robust than Ohio State. Both clear CFP contenders marching toward their last guaranteed game (non-bowl game).
Ohio State Buckeyes See above.
Tennessee Volunteers Only lost to #1. Looked good this week and against everyone else.
USC Trojans Did what was required of them and remain with only 1 close loss. Might as well be undefeated.
LSU Tigers Clear best two loss, one barely occurring, the other to higher ranked. Beat Bama, and taken care of business where needed.
Penn State Nittany Lions Only losses to undefeated, with one close one. Taking care of business elsewhere.
Alabama Crimson Tide Barely took care of business again, but they are alright.
Oregon Ducks Lost to an underrated Washington in a close one. The circle of suck makes choosing between these other teams, rough. In the end I consider loss to Georgia more interesting than UCLA.
Ole Miss Rebels Barely lost to Bama but got dominated by LSU. Still looking alright but SOS sus.
Utah Utes Inexplicable Florida loss and forgivable UCLA loss. Beat USC, even if close. Won convincingly where needed.
Washington Huskies Sorry about not honoring head to head. Oregon barely lost and has more impressive wins thus far. Easily changeable.
UCF Knights Best G5. Beat Cinci, beat Tulane get here. Don't know how the hell they lost to Louisville.
North Carolina Tar Heels This team could just as easily be something like 6-4. But they are 9-1! They clinch the coastal ( :( ) and keep here with their consistently unsatisfactory performances. Maybe they are my TCU, but I have to rank them where they belong. I can see them getting bumped up in the next ranking, I feel this is still too low for their resume.
Clemson Tigers Looked convincing again, but still should be a two loss squad.
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers They can't keep getting away with this, except they can. 9-1. They deserve it even with that loss.
Troy Trojans Barely took care of business but they held on and keep their spot.
South Alabama Jaguars Taking care of business.
Cincinnati Bearcats Probably overrated at this point with that disappointing ECU performance, but their losses are only to two other ranked teams.
UTSA Roadrunners Their losses will be recounted someday as worse, but for now they hold on to this spot.
UCLA Bruins Why are they so low? I don't quite know how they lost to Arizona like this and this pushed them straight to the bottom. Good win against the Huskies, but that performance against Arizona and beating by Oregon cannot be lost to me.
Tulane Green Wave Lost to UCF in a close one. Definitely still deserving of their spot.
Liberty Flames Lost to UCONN. Lucky I can't boot them altogether.
Oregon State Beavers Best 6-3 team as we start looking here for answers. Close loss to USC, abolished by a good Utah and Washington. Next 3: KSU, Duke, Air Force (did this just to write my flair.)
