LeWoofle Ballot for 2021 Week 9

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 25, 2021, 7:37 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Human poll relying mostly on Resume, SoS, and MoV. Eye-test used sparingly, and only in situations with similar bodies of work for the season. I try to actively negate poll inertia and allow strong movements up and down if the resume doesnt support your placements after the win or loss, with 2 results in a row resulting in much larger movement, etc.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia keeps the top spot and its not close. This defense is monstrous and the offense is better than average. Clear top of CFB in the strong wins and MoV columns, with a not necessarily easy schedule.
Oklahoma Sooners Cincy and Oklahoma both defeated bad now 1-6 teams. OU looked worse in their win, but the MoV was still higher than Cincys win. OU and Cincy are interchangeable for the 2/3 spots.
Cincinnati Bearcats Cincy and Oklahoma both defeated bad now 1-6 teams. OU looked worse in their win, but the MoV was still higher than Cincys win. OU and Cincy are interchangeable for the 2/3 spots.
Michigan Wolverines
Alabama Crimson Tide Ohio State and Alabama are both good enough for the 5 spot, and can be interchanged at will. The Tennessee win is better than the Indiana win, but the MoV for OSU was much higher.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State and Alabama are both good enough for the 5 spot, and can be interchanged at will. The Tennessee win is better than the Indiana win, but the MoV for OSU was much higher.
Oregon Ducks Much needed win over a good UCLA program. Would like the MoV to be higher across more games, otherwise the only reason they move up 3 spots is because PSU and Oklahoma State dropped games.
Michigan State Spartans
Ole Miss Rebels
Kentucky Wildcats
Oklahoma State Cowboys one of the better 1-loss teams, a close loss to a good ISU doesnt hurt them THAT much. down from 7/8
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Well they proved they can score. Move up several spots.
Iowa Hawkeyes The Purdue loss looks significantly worse after Purdue got blasted by a 4-3 Wisconsin team.
Baylor Bears
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Good win over a bad USC team. Small move upward.
Pittsburgh Panthers
SMU Mustangs SMU looks like theyre gonna be the true test for Cincy, not ND.
Texas A&M Aggies
Penn State Nittany Lions feels wrong to drop them 10 spots after a loss, but the illinois team they lost to is not good, and the iowa loss looks worse after purdue got blasted by 4-3 Wisconsin. 2-loss teams just fall a bit farther down with the plethora of undefeated and 1 loss teams.
San Diego State Aztecs
Auburn Tigers
UTSA Roadrunners
Iowa State Cyclones
Oregon State Beavers
Fresno State Bulldogs Now 6-2 with strong wins over a very good Nevada team and UCLA. Hawaii loss is likely to keep them lower on the rankings though.
