Ch-i-ef Ballot for 2021 Week 9

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 25, 2021, 9:16 p.m.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Hope your usual voodoo of facing more than 1 QB in a single game doesn't bite you.
Cincinnati Bearcats Nobody likes playing triple-option teams, don't let an escape win get you down Cinci. Just keep playing at your usual high level and sweep up your schedule until your showdown with SMU.
Alabama Crimson Tide ...yeah that final score is a bit deceiving; You got locked into a tight game with the mustard men
Michigan Wolverines Hard to find weaknesses with this Wolverines team, but nothing jumps out at you as a specialty of theirs. They just play all around good enough football to win games. ESPN AND FOX will both be here for your clash against the Spartans. Time to see how good both of you are
Oklahoma Sooners . . . K a n s a s ? ? ?
Ohio State Buckeyes Finally! I can finally gauge how good this revamped Buckeyes team is now that they finally face a quality opponent in Penn State since their loss to Oregon aaaaaaaand Penn State loses to Illinois in a 9 Overtime game...guess I'll have to wait for the end of the year for both Michigan teams.
Oregon Ducks Everyone: "Why can't you be normal?!?!"Oregon: *incoherent screaming*
Michigan State Spartans Time to see what the Spartans are made of outside of handing the ball off to Kenneth Walker every snap.
Ole Miss Rebels No matter how much mustard you throw at him, you can't keep a Heisman hopeful like Matt Corral down.
Iowa Hawkeyes Time to rebound against a Wisconsin team who beat the team who just beat you a week ago. Enjoy yourselves!
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Solid win...inb4 Brian Kelly gets rumored to the USC job.
Texas A&M Aggies God-Tier Calzada will only show up against elite SEC teams apparently.
Kentucky Wildcats If Kentucky is for real, the rest of the schedule might be a breeze for them. Very beatable teams in which none are ranked.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons It takes a special kind of defense to allow a triple-option team in Army to THROW 3 TD's on you + the other 5 rushing TD's...but having an offense that can throw 5 TD's and rush for 4 helps out.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Iowa State borrowed Purdue's voodoo magic, feels bad for you guys. Well, maybe a win over a shaky OU team at the end of the year might help.
Baylor Bears Time for the Texas slate + Oklahoma. Let's see how you handle it.
Pittsburgh Panthers Man is Clemson bad or what? How the hell did you guys lose to Western Michigan???
Auburn Tigers Ole Miss vs Auburn will be a sneaky good game. Too bad it's being quite overshadowed by the Michigans.
Iowa State Cyclones It is Iowa State tradition to suck at the start of every year when being highly ranked, lose badly, and then slowly come back to enter the rankings once again.
SMU Mustangs Another overshadowed game: SMU vs Houston will be a good one!
San Diego State Aztecs The Aztecs are a shaky undefeated team, but at least they aren't Oklahoma levels of shaky undefeated.
Penn State Nittany Lions 9 Overtimes? Only 18 points? Against Illinois? You have Ohio State next?...you sure James Franklin isn't halfway out the door yet?
Oregon State Beavers The Beavs have quietly put together solid back to back years, but they are really making noise this year. Tied with Oregon (and Wazzu lol) for top of the North and 1 game away from being bowl eligible, with a bad Cal team, a bad Colorado team, and a mediocre Stanford team up next. Beav fans gotta be happy about this season. A win over the Ducks would be the cherry on top.
UTSA Roadrunners Meep Meep Meeeeeeep Meep? (This translates to: Can we have gameday come to the Sun Bowl next week for UTSA vs UTEP if UTEP wins against FAU?)
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Yeah when all of your wins have a combined 5 FBS wins, facing a decent team in App State usually has this kind of result.
