owlalwaysloveyew Ballot for 2021 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 3, 2021, 10:42 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide There's an argument for Georgia at the number 1 spot, but Alabama dominated in their game as well. Two SEC teams in the playoffs is looking more and more likely. Somehow I forgot to include Ole Miss in my top 25 last week.
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia's 1st team defense still hasn't allowed a TD all season. Very impressive.
Iowa Hawkeyes Iowa dominated a previously undefeated Maryland in a Friday night away game. Final scoe: 51-14. The Penn State vs. Iowa matchup this weekend will be the biggest games of the year for both teams.
Cincinnati Bearcats Cincinnati started slow against Notre Dame, but wound up 17-0 at the half, and they didn't slow down in the second half. Some will knock Cincy's strength of schedule, but they have shown that they have what it takes to show up in big games.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State shut out Indiana 24-0, after mostly having close games this season (including giving up 17 points to Villanova).
Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma have been playing all their FBS opponents close this season, but remain undefeated at 5-0. They face a test in Texas this weekend
BYU Cougars BYU beat Utah State solidly. They have a tough string of games in Boise State and Baylor coming up.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State returned to its normal dominating self in a 52-13 win over Rutgers on Saturday. They should have two relatively easy games ahead before a match against Penn State in late October
Kentucky Wildcats Kentucky took down Florida at home after many many losses to the team. They play LSU next before playing #2 (maybe #1 by then) Georgia
Oklahoma State Cowboys OSU move to 5-0 after beating Baylor and they remain one of two undefeated teams in the Big 12
Michigan State Spartans Michigan State are now 5-0, but have yet to face a ranked opponent. They play Rutgers and Indiana next, before playing a (currently) undefeated michigan in late October
Florida Gators Best 2 loss team in the country? They lost to Kentucky almost entirely due to self-inflicted mistakes. I've never seen a team have so many false starts
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers Coastal handled ULM, probably the worst team in the conference, easily on Saturday.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Wake Forest is the remaining undefeated team in the ACC, but struggled to barely beat a weak Louisville. With Syracuse, Army, and Duke as the next three games, Wake Forest will likely be 8-0 with lots of conversation about whether they are legit
SMU Mustangs SMU rolls to 5-0 after defeating USF easily
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame's struggles seem to be mainly coaching issues, with not being able to decdie on a QB in the game against Cincinnati.
Oregon Ducks Oregon lost to Stanford in OT, but were missing their best player late in the game. While the playoff hopes are significantly diminished, they will undoubtedly be considered if they win out
Auburn Tigers Auburn squeaked by LSU in a close game Saturday night. They get the honor of playing the buzzsaw team that is Georgia this Saturday.
NC State Wolfpack NC State didn't look strong on Saturday, but did manage a 7 point win over LA Tech. In a weak ACC this year, NC State still have their sights on a conference title
Arizona State Sun Devils Arizona State took down #20 UCLA on Saturday, on the road to a season where every Pac 12 team will end 6-6. Being ranked seems like a curse in this conference.
Arkansas Razorbacks I didn't think murders were legal to show on live TV. Despite the score, Georgia took it easy on the hogs
Texas Longhorns Can Texas take down Oklahoma? We'll see on BIG NOON SATURDAY!
UTSA Roadrunners Meep meep. UTSA are now 5-0 after a close win over UNVLA.
Clemson Tigers Clemson did not look like an elite team, but they managed to take down undefeated Boston College in a close game full of mistakes from both teams
Appalachian State Mountaineers App State handled Georgia State, who almost upset Auburn, 45-16. The next two App State games will be nationally televized week night games, including against Coastal Carolina
