bakonydraco Ballot for 2020 Bowls

Ballot Type: Hybrid

Submitted: Dec. 21, 2020, 12:51 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Similar methodology as last week, full table here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FoA3qrDX7UUKU7jFy_F_q-ESiPxHm9sdbvBvV5k6HoM/edit?usp=sharing. Slightly more hybrid elements than usual since we just had championships and it seems like a good week to reward performance compared to prediction. All conference champs made it in, which let in #33 SJSU, #40 Louisiana, #56 Ball State, and #73 UAB at the expense of #22 Auburn, #23 USC, #24 Utah, and #25 LSU. #31 Liberty was in as a 9-1 team, and #18 Penn State was not included as they have a losing record. #7 Cincinnati was slotted into the top 4 for meriting a playoff bid, and #17 CCU and #33 SJSU were slotted into the top 10 for remaining undefeated. Everything else was in the order of the algorithm. The only team besides the G5 Champs I have that likely won't be ranked is #18 UCF. I haven't ranked #29 Tulsa, #32 Oklahoma State, #37 Miami, #49 NC State, or #57 Colorado, who might be ranked. Note that this is intended as a pre-bowl ballot and is submitted prior to the Myrtle Beach Bowl, and as a result is intentionally ignoring that result which will have happened by the time this is published.
