Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | Tough decision between Alabama and Notre Dame, but I'm going with Alabama as #1 due to them having two quality wins with Georgia and Texas A&M.  |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | Notre Dame improved to 7-0 and got the best win of the season so far knocking off Clemson.  |
| Cincinnati Bearcats | Bearcats have looked dominant this season. They have wins over SMU (7-1) and Army (6-1). They also blew out Memphis (4-2) |
| BYU Cougars | BYU moved to 8-0 after crushing Boise. Their schedule is a bit weak but the Boise win will likely prove to be a solid victory. Might slip a bit in my poll as other teams in Big Ten and Pac get quality wins.  |
| Clemson Tigers | Clemson drops to 5th in my poll after their loss to Notre Dame. They still have a great victory over Miami (6-1). likely to see ND in a rematch in the ACC championship if they dont slip up before then.  |
| Texas A&M Aggies | Texas A&M's win over Florida looks even more impressive this week. They got blown out by Alabama in their other big game. They've got a decent resume and should likely finish the season with 1 loss barring any surprises.  |
| Florida Gators | Florida has a loss to Texas A&M, but finally put a nice W on the board with their impressive dominating victory over Georgia.  |
| Coastal Carolina Chanticleers | Coastal Carolina is going to keep slipping in my poll as other teams that started late start stacking up quality wins. They're 8-0 with a good win over Louisiana (6-1, defeated Iowa State on the road)  |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | Buckeyes will keep moving up. Their schedule hasn't really been anything yet though. Wins over Penn State (0-3), Nebraska (0-3) and Rutgers (1-2). I have them this low due solely to their late start and lack of quality wins. They play IU in 2 weeks and that should bump them up above the 1 loss teams.  |
| Northwestern Wildcats | Northwestern probably has the best win among the undefeated Big Ten teams over 2-1 Maryland, but they have a common opponent with Ohio State in Nebraska and Ohio State absolutely trucked them, so I'm putting the buckeyes on top of my undefeated big ten list.  |
| Indiana Hoosiers | Hoosiers remained in the unbeaten group this weekend with a nice victory over Michigan. Nobody would have predicted Indiana could start 3-0 in a season that saw early games against Penn State and Michigan. Unfortunately those teams haven't really shown up either and their best wins are 1-2 Rutgers and 1-2 michigan. Penn State is 0-3.  |
| Liberty Flames | Liberty is 7-0. Best win is over Virginia Tech (4-3).  |
| Marshall Thundering Herd | marshall is 6-0. Best win is over Appalachian State (5-1)  |
| Purdue Boilermakers | Boilers didn't play this week because Wisconsin got covid. They remain 2-0 with wins over Iowa and Illinois. Iowa finally looked like a competent team this week in a beatdown of Michigan State.  |
| Oklahoma State Cowboys | Oklahoma State is 5-1. Best wins are over Iowa State (5-2) and Kansas State. (4-3). Lost to Texas.  |
| Miami Hurricanes | Miami is 6-1. Only loss is to Clemson. Best win is over NC State (4-3). |
| Oregon Ducks | Oregon started off the year with an impressive drubbing of Stanford.  |
| Wisconsin Badgers | Wisconsin has only played the one game against 0-3 Illinois but is 1-0.  |
| San José State Spartans | San Jose state is 3-0 and beat previously undefeated San Diego State. Tough to rank Mountain west teams that started late. We'll see if they hang around.├é┬á |
| USC Trojans | USC started off the season with a win over Arizona State. got a bit lucky on a fortunate pass bounce in the end zone, but that counts.  |
| Washington State Cougars | Washington State started off the season 1-0 with a win over Oregon State.  |
| Colorado Buffaloes | CU started the season 1-0 with a win over UCLA.  |
| Nevada Wolf Pack | 3-0 but lacking impressive wins. will move them up if they keep winning.  |
| Georgia Bulldogs | Currently I have Georgia as my top 2 loss team. Losses to Alabama and Florida aren't bad. Best win is over Auburn (4-2). They're probably better than the 23rd team, but I'm having a tricky Time doing comparisons with teams that just started their seasons.  |
| Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns | I was going to rank Iowa State 25th but then realized that would be lame as they are 5-2 and lost to Louisiana who only has 1 loss. Best win is over Iowa State.  |
