goodnames679 Ballot for 2020 Week 111

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 19, 2020, 6:40 p.m.

Overall Rationale: My rationale is based off of a combination of recent consistency, momentum, overall talent as I see it. I try and avoid inertia as much as possible and re-check my opinions on every spot weekly. For any choices I think may be significantly controversial or have major swings from my previous poll, I will provide detailed reasoning, but ones that I think speak for themselves will just be ranked as I believe they deserve. Any time that I think two teams are about a wash in where they should be ranked but one has no evidence (for example, OK State and Penn State), I'll give the edge to the team that has actually played games.

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers
Alabama Crimson Tide
Ohio State Buckeyes
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia imploded late against Bama, but they showed that they can compete with one of the other top few teams at a high level. I don't believe I've seen the
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Penn State Nittany Lions
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame has done very little to convince me they can compete to match their rank this season, and Louisville was just a disgustingly ugly game.
Texas A&M Aggies
Oregon Ducks
BYU Cougars BYU needed to prove to me that they'd be able to win games against opponents that weren't garbage after UTSA, and that win was enough for me to consider them worth a banner spot. As it stands, they have some of the most impressive results in the nation.
Florida Gators
Cincinnati Bearcats
Wisconsin Badgers
Miami Hurricanes
SMU Mustangs
North Carolina Tar Heels
Minnesota Golden Gophers
Michigan Wolverines
Kansas State Wildcats
Virginia Tech Hokies
USC Trojans
Arkansas Razorbacks
Iowa State Cyclones
NC State Wolfpack
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers
