crownebeach Ballot for 2020 Week 111

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 19, 2020, 11:35 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers Took care of business. Haven't struggled, albeit against mostly bad competition, but they strangled what looks like a good Miami and that's something.
Alabama Crimson Tide Georgia could've won this game. Bama's offense is the real deal but the Tide absolutely could not stop the run, and a more consistent offensive scheme would have made them regret it. I'm real close to putting the Big Ten teams ahead of them, but holding off for now.
Wisconsin Badgers
Ohio State Buckeyes
Georgia Bulldogs Back where I had you two weeks ago. :(
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Oregon Ducks
Penn State Nittany Lions
BYU Cougars That was a real impressive closing. Please do me a favor and show up from the opening snap next time, would you?
Miami Hurricanes Pitt is at least okay, so that win should hold up, and they didn't get embarrassed against No. 1, so this is a pretty comfortable spot to rest for now.
Texas A&M Aggies Miss State's offensive line is such abject trash that I'm not sure how much to take away from this game, but A&M looked respectable and they have a creditable win, so I'm going to trust them.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish This team would be a real threat with a decent quarterback -- 232 yards on the ground when they know the run is coming is really solid, but Ian Book is so incredibly not the answer.
USC Trojans
Florida Gators
Marshall Thundering Herd Solid group. Just keep doing what you're doing.
Iowa State Cyclones
Tulsa Golden Hurricane I'm starting from the assumption that UCF is at least a top-35 team, because there's no reason for them to be worse than that. In which case Tulsa and Memphis are also pretty good.
Oklahoma Sooners
Washington Huskies
Kansas State Wildcats
SMU Mustangs I still think Memphis, UCF, and SMU are basically peers. SMU won the box score against Memphis, but they also got four turnovers and scuffled against a mediocre Tulane. UCF lost to what I think is a potentially awesome Tulsa, then significantly outgained Memphis in a loss. What a mess.
Cincinnati Bearcats This is a really big drop for a team that didn't play, but I'm re-evaluating everything de novo this week and I just don't think they've been as impressive in their wins as some of their conference mates have in losses. I think they'd be middle of the pack in the West.
Minnesota Golden Gophers Jumped up into the rankings because so many teams crashed. Ranking them in honor of GameDay just feels right, if nothing else.
Virginia Tech Hokies
Memphis Tigers Scores in bunches, can't really get stops, same old Memphis.
