1 Ohio State Buckeyes The Buckeyes just got most of their key opt-outs back. This team is going to be scary.
2 Alabama Crimson Tide Bama jumped Clemson in my rankings this week. They looked more impressive against a similar level competition.
3 Clemson Tigers Clemson is solid everywhere. I expect another playoff appearance, even in an improved ACC conference.
4 Georgia Bulldogs UGA's offense looked much better this week. I still believe they are in a tier of their own here.
5 Florida Gators They don't look overly impressive, but they are getting the job done.
6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish There are a few weeks before ND has a real test, but they took care of business in the first two games.
7 Penn State Nittany Lions PSU should be the second best team in the B1G. The Big 12 beating up on each other should be really helpful for the SEC/B1G/ACC to get two teams in the playoff.
8 Oregon Ducks Oregon should be the clear favorites in weak Pac 12. They have talent all over the field.
9 Wisconsin Badgers Wisconsin pulled a fairly easy schedule and should be the favorites to win the West.
10 Miami Hurricanes Their wins are looking less impressive as we watch the other teams play, but they got it done. We will figure out where they belong after the Clemson game.
11 Cincinnati Bearcats Cincinnati looks like the frontrunners for the G5 NY6 spot. They get a bye before two tough games against Tulsa and SMU.
12 Oklahoma State Cowboys Oklahoma State is beginning to look like the frontrunner for the conference. If Sanders and the o-line heal up, they may run away with it.
13 BYU Cougars BYU has been destroying middle of the pack teams, however they don't have any really good teams on the schedule. This will probably hurt their chances of jumping into the Top 10.
14 Tennessee Volunteers Is this Tennessee's year to compete for the East? They are one of only four SEC teams without a loss after two weeks.
15 North Carolina Tar Heels Scraped past an okay BC team, but a win's a win. They should be able to compete with Miami, ND, and VT for that second championship game spot.
16 Virginia Tech Hokies A huge game this week against UNC. Then they get a fairly easy rest of October. The winner of this game should be fighting for a shot at Clemson in the CCG.
17 Michigan Wolverines Michigan has one of the toughest schedules in the country. That's not great when you're breaking in a new QB. I think the defense will still help them win some bigger games, though.
18 SMU Mustangs Really impressive win over Memphis. They have a pretty easy schedule and that game with Cincinnati will be huge for the G5 spot in the NY6.
19 Minnesota Golden Gophers Bateman coming back is hug for the Gophers. They should have a good offense with Tanner Morgan back at QB.
20 Iowa Hawkeyes It's tough to imagine Iowa not having a Top 25 team. They should once again have a solid OL and defense. And they will find another talented TE.
21 Marshall Thundering Herd The win vs App State keeps them in the fight for the G5 NY6 spot, but their schedule isn't doing them any favors.
22 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Just barely skating by these past few weeks. A big game against Coastal coming up.
23 Iowa State Cyclones They are sitting atop the Big 12 standing after losing that first game to Louisana.
24 Auburn Tigers Auburn needs some sort of offense production before they can think about competing with Bama for the West.
25 Utah Utes We may see a rematch of last year's Pac-12 Championship Game. The Pac-12 will be weak this year, so Utah still has a shot at running the table.
