Ballot Type: Hybrid

Overall Rationale: Used human bias in the top 6 trying to account for a mix of SoS and overall points. As always I'll never have two teams from the same conference in the top 4 since those games will always be decided in the season. Tried to keep head to head a factor as long as teams had the same number of losses.
Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| LSU Tigers | Actually tied for 5th overall in points, but can't ignore being the only team with two ranked wins. |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | First overall in points still despite coming off a bye week, one ranked win. |
| Oklahoma Sooners | Bit of a bump here due to a couple of things. First being the B1G and SEC each having multiple teams with more points but I won't put them in the top 4 together, secondly they jump Clemson for having a ranked win with comparable easy schedules.  |
| Clemson Tigers | Dominant win over FSU, but the ACC is really bad and isn't doing their perception any favors. Thankfully though they don't have to give a fuck about that and win out and make the CFP anyways. |
| Wisconsin Badgers | Second in points overall and really the only team close to OSU,  win over Michigan is looking better and better. Anyone know if Sparty's offense was ever found? |
| Alabama Crimson Tide | No ranked wins, but no losses and they're still winning comfortably.  |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | Undefeated with a ranked win on the road. Still has to play three teams I have ranked. |
| Florida Gators | Actually only dropped one spot for a good showing in Death Valley. One ranked win one ranked loss. |
| Auburn Tigers | One ranked win one ranked loss. Tulane is still in my top 30 though. |
| Oregon Ducks | No ranked win, but man that defense. If just one or two plays had gone their way against Auburn they'd probably be top 5 right now. |
| Georgia Bulldogs | An odd case of the team they beat looking like they're the better team. But that's why you play the games. One ranked win. |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | USC came to play, but Notre Dame is just too good. |
| SMU Mustangs | Bye week drop, but really it's about time. Still have six FBS wins. |
| Michigan Wolverines | Illinois looked like they were going to make it a game, but Michigan prevailed. It's kinda weird they're playing better and winning, but it's not really pretty or particularly impressive. Wins a win though. |
| Boise State Broncos | No ranked wins, but no losses and a bit of QB depth in a nice win over Hawaii who I had at #26 last week. |
| Baylor Bears | Very narrow win, very narrow margin ahead of Minnesota (.5 points) |
| Minnesota Golden Gophers | Undefeated and playing really well with a favorable schedule. |
| Cincinnati Bearcats | The blowout loss to OSU continues to look better for OSU than bad for Cincy if that makes sense. |
| Arizona State Sun Devils | This ASU team just doesn't quit. They're a ton of fun to watch play, only slightly held back here for an unranked loss, close wins, and no ranked wins. |
| Appalachian State Mountaineers | ULL was in my top 35 last week so that was a solid road win. Hopefully the AP ranks y'all as well. |
| Utah Utes | Welcome back, throttling the Beavs is ok, but really there are no notable wins, but only one loss halfway through the season. USC needs to lose another conference game for the Utes to control their own destiny in the south. |
| Texas Longhorns | Score was closer than the game. OU has a hell of a defense, and Texas just couldn't hang. No good wins, but two one possession losses to teams in my top 4. Can't hate too much. |
| Iowa Hawkeyes | The ISU win is looking better, though it was really ISU beating themselves rather than Iowa winning. Quality losses keeping them here I guess? |
| Missouri Tigers | Don't particularly like ranking a team that's ineligible for the post season, but that shouldn't detract from them having a good record even with a bad loss. Granted the MWC has been trading blows with the SEC successfully this year. |
| Wake Forest Demon Deacons | Barely stayed ranked because who else deserves this spot? Washington? Cal? UCF? Hawaii? Navy? Meh.  |
