Foxmcbowser42 Ballot for 2018 Final

Ballot Type: Hybrid

Submitted: Jan. 8, 2019, 1:52 p.m.

Overall Rationale: I use a hybrid resume type ranking. I assign points based on who a team beats and then will adjust +/-5 for eye test and head to head. Since the Bama and Clemson are clearly 1 and 2, this poll reflects points before the championship and the winner of the game will get the number 1 spot either way. Also, following NDSU's undefeated season, I calculated the resume for a few of the top 25 FCS teams, only NDSU reached the top 25 (though Princeton is tied for 25th with 30 points). NDSU had 58 points in my system, good enough for 9th! I bumped them to just outside of the top 10, but resume wise, they beat up on the FCS enough (plus Iowa) to rise into the rankings. Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers
Alabama Crimson Tide
Ohio State Buckeyes
Oklahoma Sooners
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
LSU Tigers
UCF Knights
Texas Longhorns + 5 - dismantling the Dawgs like that earns a top 10
Georgia Bulldogs -4 H2H
Florida Gators +4 see Texas except with Michigan
North Dakota State Bison
Fresno State Bulldogs
Appalachian State Mountaineers
Washington Huskies
Michigan Wolverines
Washington State Cougars
Texas A&M Aggies
Boise State Broncos
Army West Point +5 - I know Houston was likely overrated, but this team did everything it could this season and was one loss to Duke (weird in retrospect) away from being in NY6 discussion.
Kentucky Wildcats
Penn State Nittany Lions
UAB Blazers
Syracuse Orange
Utah State Aggies
Missouri Tigers
