stripes361 Ballot for 2018 Week 11

Ballot Type: Hybrid

Submitted: Nov. 4, 2018, 8:06 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Performance/team quality ranking, based primarily on ESPN's FPI and Football Outsiders' S&P+ rankings. Not intended to be a resume ranking. Teams moved up and down from their spots in the computer rankings based on eye test, coaching, QB play, and other subjective factors.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide
Clemson Tigers
Georgia Bulldogs
Michigan Wolverines Michigan jumps back over Oklahoma this week after a dominant victory over Penn State. Really hitting on all cylinders right now.
Oklahoma Sooners
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Ohio State Buckeyes
West Virginia Mountaineers
Mississippi State Bulldogs
Penn State Nittany Lions
Washington Huskies
Fresno State Bulldogs
LSU Tigers
Utah Utes
UCF Knights
Utah State Aggies
Washington State Cougars
Iowa Hawkeyes
Auburn Tigers
Texas A&M Aggies Texas A&M lost by 4 on the road to an Auburn team I had ranked one spot ahead of them last week, which basically matches expectation. Both teams stay in place this week.
Missouri Tigers Welcome back! Missouri made my Top 25 two weeks ago at 4-3 and I foolishly dropped them to my Honorable Mention section last week after a controversial 1-point loss to ranked Kentucky. I let W-L record influence my placement of them too much. They should be back for good now after a convincing demolition of Florida.
Wisconsin Badgers
Kentucky Wildcats Kentucky actually stays in place in my poll this week after losing by 17 to Georgia. My placement of the Wildcats at #23 last week was part of the reason I made the "Most Unusual Ballots" list. I suspect that the consensus has moved Kentucky much closer to where I already had them.
Purdue Boilermakers Purdue lost their first three games by a combined 8 points and are 5-1 since. This team is better than their 5-4 record suggests and should continue to roll through an easy November schedule.
Boise State Broncos Honorable Mention: Florida, Texas, Texas Tech, Michigan State, Stanford, Iowa State, Boston College, Miami, Cincinnati
