Overall Rationale: Rankings are a combination of resume and eye test combined with some computer stuff (not mine.) NEXT TEN OUT: Arizona, Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern, Army, Iowa State, South Carolina, South Florida, Ohio, San Diego State. DROPPED OUT: Michigan State, Iowa, Iowa State
Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | As everybody else dies, as usual the fucking Crimson Tide are still at the top. God I hate this team. |
| Oklahoma Sooners | The Sooners wrecked TCU and are a lock for the playoff if they win out. It helps that they have the clear Heisman frontrunner. |
| Miami Hurricanes | The Hurricanes made me eat my words by absolutely annihilating Notre Dame into the next dimension. All signs point to the ACCCG being a playoff for the playoff. |
| Clemson Tigers | Clemson cruised against a dumpster fire Florida State team and locked up the Atlantic again. |
| Wisconsin Badgers | Wisconsin had a test against the Hawkeyes fresh off a stomping of Ohio State, and passed with exemplary marks. The path to the playoff for the Badgers is clear: win out and you're in. |
| Georgia Bulldogs | Georgia had a rough day against Auburn. Their playoff hopes aren't dead, but they'll need to win out to have a shot. |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | The Fighting Irish hype train was derailed on Saturday. Barring complete chaos, NY6 bowl it is. |
| TCU Horned Frogs | The Horned Frogs had a rough first half against the Sooners and were unable to recover, but if they win out, they'll get another shot at the kings in the Big XII title game. |
| Oklahoma State Cowboys | The Cowboys rebounded against the Cyclones, who are slowly faltering after a string of upsets. |
| UCF Knights | Fuck the committee. This is a top ten team. |
| Auburn Tigers | Holy shit Auburn. Please play like that against Alabama. |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | What even is this team? You get blown out by 31 points to fucking Iowa and then obliterate Michigan State by 45? Are you the best team in the nation or are you mediocre? Make up your fucking mind. Inconsistency aside, the Buckyes do have an off shot at the playoff, but they'll need to run the table in convincing fashion, which will require a win over a very tough looking Wisconsin Badger football team. |
| USC Trojans | USC finds themselves as the top ranked PAC-12 team once again as the conference has almost certainly cannibalized itself out of the playoff. |
| Washington Huskies | Washington suffered another setback with a loss to Stanford. Their playoff chances, as well as the conference's as a whole, is probably dead. |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | Let it be known that Penn State trailed Rutgers 6-0. It didn't last long as Penn State woke up and took care of business. |
| Memphis Tigers | Memphis was off this weekend. SMU is their last major test before a conference championship game against either UCF or USF, both of which will be tough games. |
| Washington State Cougars | Washington State has a week to prepare for a huge matchup against their hated rivals as they'll compete for a spot in the conference championship game. |
| Mississippi State Bulldogs | The Bulldogs gave Alabama their toughest game of the year, and deserve some commendation for that. However, they were unable to close the game when it mattered. |
| NC State Wolfpack | The Wolfpack survived a close contest against BC. The division is officially out of reach, but a solid bowl game is still in the cards. |
| West Virginia Mountaineers | The Mountaineers scraped by KSU with a win, and remain in the top 25. |
| Virginia Tech Hokies | The Hokies suffered a tough loss against Georgia Tech. |
| LSU Tigers | LSU stumbled their way back into the top 25 with other teams faltering. |
| Michigan Wolverines | Michigan cruised against the injury ridden Terrapins. Their last two games are going to be very rough as they play road games against the two teams likely bound for the conference championship back to back. |
| Stanford Cardinal | The Cardinal got a huge win against the Huskies, and have a chance at the North title, provided Washington wins the Apple Cup. Cal is a tougher match than their record implies, and then they close with a top 10 Notre Dame team. |
| Boise State Broncos | The Broncos have found theirselves back in the top 25 after a six game winning streak, looking like they'll win the MWC once again. |
