hokies220 Ballot for 2017 Week 11

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 5, 2017, 10:33 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Top four are who I'd pick now. Tried to be resume based for the top ten because I think there are only ten good teams left. Everyone else is meh and I just picked them out of a list on who I thought was better except when teams have the same records and a head to head to compare. Like I think USC is better than Wazzu, but they lost the head to head and don't deserve to be ahead. Also tried to rank every team with two losses or better.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs ND win is still the best of the year.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish NC State fell out but Michigan State gave them a boost. Big game at Miami
Oklahoma Sooners Wins @ the OSU's > wins @VT and home against Auburn mainly because VT fucking sucks
Clemson Tigers BUT wins against VT and Auburn > VT and Toledo
Miami Hurricanes Better wins than Bama even though they aren't blowing them out.
Alabama Crimson Tide Might go the entire regular season without a ranked(in my poll) win.
TCU Horned Frogs Now controls their own destiny
UCF Knights SMU nearly got the upset, but UCF has a solid win against Memphis helping prop them up.
Wisconsin Badgers It's been said a million times but weak schedule. Win out and it'll take care if itself as no undefeated P5 champ will be left out.
Washington Huskies Last team with a prayer of making the playoffs, UCF doesn't but they've played a tougher schedule.
Michigan State Spartans For 11-25 I just listed 15 teams and kinda picked who I'd least like to play. Solid win at home.
Ohio State Buckeyes Blown the fuck out by Iowa. Shouldn't happen if you actually want to make the playoffs.
Penn State Nittany Lions Head to head loss to OSU but at least they didn't get murdered.
Auburn Tigers Actually, I suppose if Auburn won out they could have a case for the playoff even with two losses.
Memphis Tigers Gotta get past SMU then it's likely going to be a rematch with UCF for the NY6 bowl.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Only have losses to top ten teams, but they just can't get over their Boomer demons. Also, don't control their own destiny. I think.
Washington State Cougars Surprised me by beating Stanford and containing Love. Only over USC because of H2H.
USC Trojans Solid win against the fightin' Tate's
Toledo Rockets Logan Woodside is the best QB nobody is paying attention to. This should finally be the year Toledo wins the MAC. Theoretically, they could make the NY6 with a little bit of chaos in the AAC.
Boise State Broncos Still have that bad loss to UVA, but H2H over SDSU and have three decent opponents left to beef up their resume.
USF Bulls Solid win, yeah the schedule is soft and they have a loss they couldn't afford. Bulls are playing well though.
Virginia Tech Hokies VT has played two good teams all year and been outscored 59-27. Only giving up 28 points in a big road loss isn't terrible, except they picked off Rozier three times and only managed to score 10 points. Also they forgot how to tackle.
Michigan Wolverines Defense remains scary. Offense was existent again.
San Diego State Aztecs Run run runnning the ball but it was against the worst team in FBS. Still 8-2 though.
Iowa State Cyclones Stayed ranked because of the two solid wins. But nobody was really deserving of the 25th spot IMO. I only listed 24 teams when thinking about who should be ranked.
