CarbonCamaroZL1 Ballot for 2017 Week 11

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 6, 2017, 10:42 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Lots of teams out, lots of teams in. Yup.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide 0 spots (previously 1). Alabama keep showing why they are the only #1 team right now. They just don't lose and they don't keep games close.
Georgia Bulldogs 0 spots (previously 2). Georgia didn't get the strongest win, but they got a win just like they have all season. The Bama/Georgia SEC Championship will be a good one for the #1 spot.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish +1 spot (previously 4). Barely beat an okay Wake Forest. But still moves up into the 3rd spot.
Wisconsin Badgers +1 spot (previously 5). Now moves into Playoff status. Some may say that Miami deserves to be in over them, however Wisconsin has 2 chances to prove themselves over the next 2 weeks. A newly ranked Iowa and Top 20 Michigan.
Miami Hurricanes + 1 spot (previously 6). Miami finally earned that strong win against Virginia Tech. Arguing them over Wisconsin is a back and forth fight. Next weeks Notre Dame game will truly decide whether or not they should be in the Playoffs as they will either lose and drop back, or take down Notre Dame dropping one person out of the top 4.
Oklahoma Sooners +2 spot (previously 8). Moving up after a seemingly close, but strong 2 score win against a very good ranked OKState team. Oklahoma's defense still leaves a lot to be desired, however, but their offense more than makes up for that.
Clemson Tigers +2 spots (previously 9th). Another strong Top 25 win against a very good NC State. Clemson continues to climb.
Washington Huskies +2 spots (previously 10). Absolutely decimated Oregon. Climbing their way back into a chance at the Playoffs, however the Playoffs are a very tough battle between the Power-5.
TCU Horned Frogs +3 spots (previously 12). Took down a bad Texas team convincingly. Moves back into the Top 10.
Michigan State Spartans +7 spots (previously 17). Moves up drastically after a big win over Penn State. MSU and OSU will be a big game this weekend.
Ohio State Buckeyes -8 spots (previously 3). HAHAHAHA. Destroyed by Iowa. Not just beaten, destroyed. Big game against MSU this week, but I don't think either team will make it back into Playoff contention. Wisconsin may be the B1G's only hope.
Auburn Tigers +3 spots (previously 15). Auburn slowly climbing back up towards the Top 10. The Iron Bowl could be a Top 10 matchup.
Penn State Nittany Lions -6 spots (previously 7). Loses at MSU just barely in bad weather. No real shocker here. The B1G East could end in a 4-way tie.
UCF Knights 0 spots (previously 14). Being an American team who barely beat SMU, there isn't really a need to move down. However, they are still not deserving to move back because they are still undefeated and destroying teams.
USC Trojans +1 spot (previously 16). Moves up only one spot purely because this team is still a 2 loss team who has a lot of work to do to get back up there.
Michigan Wolverines +2 spots (previously 18). Out offensive line opened up a lot of holes for our run game. Our defensive line sacked Minnesota's QB many times during that game. Overall, our team looks stronger and stronger but we still don't have a lot of pass opportunities and our 3rd down completion still sucks and we need to halt the penalties. But no turnovers was definitely a good thing. This team still needs to prove themselves, and I think Wisconsin will do just that.
Washington State Cougars +4 spots (previously 21). Alright, so maybe the PAC-12 is just bad. I don't know. Maybe the B1G is bad. Maybe all Power 5 conferences are just bad.
Virginia Tech Hokies -7 spots (previously 11). VTech can't seem to get into the Top 10. They get there, then lose to a good team. But they still look promising.
Oklahoma State Cowboys -6 spots (previously 13). After a good loss to Oklahoma, they do remain in the Top 25. Good team, just not good enough to win the Big 12.
Memphis Tigers +3 spots (previously 23). Good team in the American conference, however they really don't have any good wins. Moving them up to 20 is only fair, however. But if UCF gets knocked out, Memphis probably will too considering the 40-13 loss they suffered to UCF. It's the problem of being an American conference team.
Mississippi State Bulldogs +4 spots (previously 25). Got away barely with a win against a bad Massachusetts team. Still moves up pretty far purely because a lot of other teams have lost and dropped out or far back.
Iowa Hawkeyes NEW (previously URANKED). Iowa destroyed Ohio State. Love it. Moving up into the world, especially with how many close losses to good teams they have (PSU, MSU).
West Virginia Mountaineers NEW (previously URANKED). Back into the rankings with a good win over Iowa State.
Iowa State Cyclones -5 spots (previously 19). Looks like their winning streak against good teams has ended. Maybe next time, Iowa State.
Arizona Wildcats -5 spots (previously 20). Still barely in for now. Not a lot of good teams left, but lots of teams ahead of them who could still lose. Top 25 is a cluster.
