hokies220 Ballot for 2017 Week 10

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 29, 2017, 11:50 a.m.

Overall Rationale: I feel like I need the 'i have no idea what im doing' picture on here after this week. Everything was going to be so clear cut had TCU and PSU won. Oh well.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Takes over number one by having the best win of the season and better overall resume than Bama.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Currently have three ranked wins.
Oklahoma Sooners Head to head over the Buckeyes is really counting for a lot
Clemson Tigers Solid wins over VT, Auburn, and GT.
Alabama Crimson Tide 5? I know what you're thinking, but I won't put two teams from the same conference in the playoff which is how I have my top four set up. Plus they're in control of their own destiny.
Ohio State Buckeyes With such a huge win I thought about putting them in the top 4 but I can't put them in over a team that beat them by double digits at home.
Penn State Nittany Lions Close loss still top ten team.
TCU Horned Frogs Ditto.
UCF Knights Strength of schedule advantage with Memphis being ranked and Navy being solid.
Miami Hurricanes Forgot Miami when going through this had to add them in. Only top ten for being undefeated because they've looked like shit.
Wisconsin Badgers Ugly win is still a win, but they aren't exactly impressing anyone. Maybe should be ahead of Miami because their wins aren't as ugly, but meh. Neither team has looked the part yet.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Game wasn't near as close as the score. Pokes defense was dominant.
Iowa State Cyclones Had they held on against Iowa the Cyclones would probably be in my top 4. Yeah. The Cyclones.
Virginia Tech Hokies Solid win in the rain, but the best wins are 5-3 WVU and 5-4 BC so not exactly strong.
Washington Huskies Did what they were expected to do. The conference's slim CFP hopes rest on their shoulders.
Memphis Tigers Looking like a rematch against UCF for the conference crown and likely NY6 berth is looming. Of course I could be wrong and it could be SMU-USF or something.
Arizona Wildcats If Khalil Tate had started the season they'd be undefeated almost guaranteed and in the top four. As it is they control their destiny in the division.
USF Bulls I think most people expected a loss at some point. Still control their own destiny to the NY6.
USC Trojans Solid performance against ASU.
Stanford Cardinal Love didn't play and Stanford barely seemed to in a 'win' against Oregon State. Yikes.
NC State Wolfpack Blown out by ND, but still control their Orange Bowl destiny.
Michigan State Spartans Close OT loss, but still had to drop some since they aren't winning impressively.
LSU Tigers This spot is basically for LSU, Auburn, and Miss State to share. I think they are all fairly equal to each other I just stuck with LSU since I had them ranked last week.
Toledo Rockets Little bit of love for the best MAC team.
Washington State Cougars Two blowout losses, but still have the wins over USC and Boise to look back on.
