Ghost_of_Dude Ballot for 2017 Week 10

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 30, 2017, 10:54 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Ranking is a general blend of eye test and resume. NEXT TEN OUT: Toledo, Michigan State, Boise State, West Virginia, USF, Texas A&M, Navy, Northwestern, Georgia Tech, South Carolina. DROPPED OUT: USF, West Virginia, Georgia Tech

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide The Tide were off this weekend, and strengthen their clutch on #1 as everybody else loses.
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia roflstopmed Florida and confirmed to all of us that they're probably the 2nd best team in the nation.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish The Irish cruised to a victory against the Wolfpack. Between a Heisman worthy running back in Adams and a stout defense, this team looks primed for playoff contention. Though a tough schedule still stands in their way.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State proves that their resurgence the past month was no fluke. Despite numerous errors early in the game, putting them down by three possessions, they rallied in impressive fashion to down the Nittany Lions and control their own destiny to the B1G championship and the playoff.
Clemson Tigers Clemson soundly handled the Yellow Jackets and have a big showdown with a Wolfpack looking to rebound after their Notre Dame loss.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State's playoff hopes are now almost entirely out of their hands after the loss to Ohio State. However, a NY6 is still very much in play.
Wisconsin Badgers The Badgers continue to coast through their easy schedule.
TCU Horned Frogs TCU's loss to Iowa State very much complicates the Big XII race. Bedlam will put things into perspective.
Oklahoma State Cowboys The Cowboys prevailed in a shootout with West Virginia, and look ahead to their rivals for what could be a spot in the Big XII Championship.
Miami Hurricanes Yeah, they're undefeated. Yeah, they beat UNC. Yeah, I dropped them. This team is going to get demolished by Notre Dame, and may not even survive VTech next week.
Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma managed to hold the high octane Red Raider offense to a paltry 7 points in the last three quarters, showing there is some hope for that Swiss Cheese defense. They'll have their hands full with Mason Rudolph next week.
UCF Knights The Knights put up 73 points on a surprisingly competitive Austin Peay team, and watched with bittersweet feelings as USF lost their FBS longest winning streak.
Iowa State Cyclones I want to rank this team higher, but with two losses, that makes it a bit difficult.
Virginia Tech Hokies The Hokies handled Duke and have a huge tilt with Miami coming up.
USC Trojans USC downed ASU with ease, and hop Washington due to this.
Washington Huskies Washington took the pressure off of Browning by utilizing their rushing attack for their win. They control their own path to the PAC 12 title game, but playoff hopes look dim for the whole conference now without some serious chaos.
Memphis Tigers Memphis is hardcore regretting that loss to UCF right now.
Stanford Cardinal Without Bryce Love, this team struggled to beat a terrible Oregon State squad. Not a good look if you can barely beat the worst team in your conference without your star player.
Auburn Tigers Auburn was off this week and gained a buttload of spots thanks to others' misfortune.
NC State Wolfpack NC State's hype train is derailed a bit, but they didn't lose to a nobody. Their hopes of winning an ACC title are still very much alive and hinge on their upcoming contest with Clemson.
Mississippi State Bulldogs Mississippi State rolled A&M on their way back into the top 25
Arizona Wildcats Since Khalil Tate took over on offense, Arizona's offense has looked unstoppable. The man simply cannot be slowed down. It's too late for Arizona to be considered a playoff contender, but perhaps next year they can make some noise.
LSU Tigers Why does it feel so wrong to rank LSU?
Washington State Cougars The Cougars are crumbling, and at this point I wonder if they'll even compete with Washington in the Apple Cup. Consider the hype train fully derailed.
Michigan Wolverines The Wolverines creep back in with other teams falling out ahead of them. Their offense is trash, but the defense will keep them in most games.
