CarbonCamaroZL1 Ballot for 2017 Week 10

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 31, 2017, 12:15 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Top 25 is very confusing and strange. So many variables when it comes to the 15-25 teams. The top 10 is fairly easy to get right, personally. Everything after that is complicated. ----- Out: USF, Georgia Tech and West Virginia. ----- New: Arizona, Iowa State and LSU.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide 0 spots (previously 1). Bye week.
Georgia Bulldogs +1 spot (previously 3). Moves up due to dominant win and Penn State losing. SEC Championship could shape up to be a good one.
Ohio State Buckeyes +2 spots (previously 6). Unfortunately, they beat PSU and get to move up. JT Barrett is again looking like a Heisman candidate. Ugh.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish +3 spots (previously 7). Notre Dame looks like the sleeper team. They have crept straight into the Playoffs.
Wisconsin Badgers +0 spots (previously 5). Wisconsin aren't moving anywhere due to their schedule. They will move up into the Playoff contention if they can win the B1G Championship and finish the season strong. The polls always work themselves out in the end as at least 2 Playoff spots will most likely open up at the end of the season.
Miami Hurricanes + spots (previously 9). Another unimpressive win, but they are remaining undefeated. A team that I feel, if they lose one game to one of these worse teams, could be sent packing pretty far back.
Penn State Nittany Lions -5 spots (previously 2). While Oklahoma did beat Ohio State, that was a less impressive OSU team. PSU will retain their spot ahead of Oklahoma. That being said, PSU, you suck for not beating OSU.
Oklahoma Sooners +0 spots (previously 8). Not moving anywhere. Their one loss and multiple close games will continue to haunt them for a little while.
Clemson Tigers +1 spot (previously 10). Moves up after TCU lost. Clemson had a good win against a previously barely ranked Georgia Tech.
Washington Huskies +1 spot (previously 11). Moves up due to TCU moving back. Also had a strong win over an okay UCLA.
Virginia Tech Hokies +2 spots (previously 13). Still doesn't have a strong win per say, only over West Virginia, however they are 7-1 and their one loss is to Clemson.
TCU Horned Frogs -8 spots (previously 4). Due to their loss to an arguably good Iowa State team, they move back quite a ways.
Oklahoma State Cowboys +2 spots (previously 15). Moves up a bit, but still behind TCU due to losing to them.
UCF Knights +4 spots (previously 18). Moves up drastically with a massive win over Austin Peay plus other teams falling due to losing.
Auburn Tigers +4 spots (previously 19). Successful bye week. Lots of drops ahead of them.
USC Trojans +6 spots (previously 22). Big move due to so many teams losing that were not far ahead of them. Plus they had a big win over a potentially upsetting team that is Arizona State.
Michigan State Spartans -5 spots (previously 12). Not a massive drop over them losing, but the 15th-25th places are confusing. This team is still hard to justify due to not playing any good teams yet, but this week against PSU should show what they have.
Michigan Wolverines +2 spots (previously 20). No 78-0 game, but a decent 3 score win regardless. Peters is looking a lot more reliable than O'Korn, but he still is a freshman and has a lot to prove against better teams. Minnesota isn't a great team, but should offer a better understanding of his abilities than Rutgers.
Iowa State Cyclones NEW (previously UNRANKED). Iowa State is looking to take the Big 12 by storm this year. Upsetting multiple teams.
Arizona Wildcats NEW (previously UNRANKED). Added after beating Washington State. No clue if this team is good or not, but they have beaten both Washington teams who are still both ranked.
Washington State Cougars -7 spots (previously 14). Got destroyed by a confusing Arizona. Are they good or is the Pac-12 just bad? Probably a bit of both. However, Wazzu isn't moved back too far purely because they are still 7-2 and there aren't a lot of great teams this season. However they risk being knocked out by Stanford this week.
Stanford Cardinal +0 spots (previously 22). Barely beat a very bad Oregon State. Doesn't move anywhere. Facing Wazzu this week will prove who is the better meh Pac-12 team.
Memphis Tigers +2 spots (previously 24). Still not fully convinced this team deserves to be here yet, but they are 7-1 and there aren't many teams that are anymore.
NC State Wolfpack -7 spots (previously 17). Moves back after losing to a scary Notre Dame team. NC State is still a team to be reckoned with.
Mississippi State Bulldogs NEW (previously UNRANKED). Moves back in because they are still dominating most teams they play and their only losses are two top 25 ranked teams, granted they got destroyed in both of them.
